Alberta owners turbo interest?

A lot more/recent pictures on P4 of this thread, with a true twin scroll turbo setup.

Just wondering if there are any local (Edmonton) 370z owners that would be interested in a single turbo kit for a 370z. I build turbo kits for the 350z, and would like to branch out the the 370z community.

Here is some of my work:

MAF adapter:

I would like to get my hands on a 370z, for a few days to see what kind of room I would have to work with. The donor car would be looking at a single turbo kit that would cost them about $4000 as an insetive.

This is my car, if you see me around say hi.

I am looking at the Precision 6162 turbo, rated at 630hp. On that note, the gains on a stock block would be in the 500whp range. If you are interested you can PM me and we can go on from there.

I have to ask, what wheels are those on your Z?

im sorry to sound like a a$$hole but that doesnt really mean it will void your warrenty. It most likely will, however, after market parts have to cause the problem you need to get fixed for it to void the warrenty. I had a supercharged cobalt, i swapped superchargers, meth injection, heat exchanger, bigger injectors, lowering springs and a bunch of other things...had ALOT of problems with that car and the only time i had to pay out of my pocket was when the #4 spark plug blew up and caused damage, because i didnt torque it down tight enough. Hell they even used the warrenty when my end links to the sway bar broke...and lowering springs made the car a rough ride so its no doubt in my mind it was caused by that, but they couldnt prove it.

Even with the 370z, i had issues with my climate controls. I have nitrous and intakes installed, left the bottle in and brought the car to the dealership. We talked for abit, they asked what size shot im running and everything..they gave me the paperwork and amount owing was $0 because it was coverd by warrenty.

But like i said, a mod like that will most likely cause a issue so the warrenty might be voided..lol

You don't need to run that much power. You can go for 400whp and be very very safe.

I am making 360whp on my 06 rev-up motor on 6psi of boost.

I'm making 313WHP on my stock (only bolt-ons) engine. That's enough for me.

That is very good with bolt-ons. How about the torque?

Wanna practice on my '83 280ZX before we try the 370Z? My goal is 300RWHP from the L28ET.... :P

I'm kinda surprised no one is taking you up on this - seems like a great deal and your work looks very nice. Personally I'd rather be spending the $$ on coil overs and sways (brakes seem OK so far but that might be another upgrade to follow). Gotta take care of the latteral acceleration and stopping first - speed is last....

I don't really need practice, I am very good at what I do. However if you want a custom turbo setup, I can do that.

Even though it is a great deal, I didn't think there would be anobody in Alberta interested. Thought I give it a shot anyways.

What's wrong with doing it yourself? A few wrenches and cases of beer ....... viola! :stirthepot:

I might even show up and offer verbal support for the free beer :p

On a serious note: when do you plan on doing the install?

shumby 02-19-2010 02:39 PM

May/june but I am going to go down to GTM and have them install

That is a long trip for a supercharger install. If I was you I would do it myself, just beacause you get to know how it all goes together and how it works. If you have any issues down the road, you would have a very good idea of where to start looking.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but how much did the kit set you back?

CrownR426 02-19-2010 11:11 PM

You need a bbk asap, sick wheels though!

Lol - I was just kidding about getting the L28ET set up although.....

Geeze you'd think all those cowboy hats and jacked up 4x4s they'd be pounding at your door to get 1Gazzilion HP from their 370Z ;) After all Alberta is Canada's Texas ;P

Possibly, I would have to have a good look under the hood first to see how everything is laid out.

Did you have power goal in mind?

BTW, I think I met you last year on the cruise down to Red Deer. You have the black G37S and a black FX50S that your wife drove, correct?

I (Sasha) had the silver 350z.

shumby 03-01-2010 10:58 AM

Ya thats me. hey looking in the 450 range. I am back in Canada in a few days want to set a time and you can come take a look at the FX?

I am sure we can arrange something. I am booked next weekend doing some custom stuff on a Supra, but I think after that we should be good to go.

shumby 03-01-2010 02:24 PM

cool. could you PM me your e-mail? so i can drop you a line . mine is stephenhumby@hotmail.com

On the 370Z the turbo would be just down stream from the passenger side header, beside the transmission. Plenty of room, and the turbo would be up high.

Paging Edconline to the forums....

GaleForce 02-01-2012 09:38 PM

Nice work! Very tidy.

Why can't I find someone like this in Ontario?

edconline 02-01-2012 10:32 PM

Lol, I'm here Wheee, I see it. Unfortunately almost all of my modding $ from this tour has been spoken for by this point.. Plus my new goal has been to get every single possible performance mod I can for the car other than F.I. and then if I still have the mod bug, it'll be time for F.I. And by then I won't have anything to upgrade to support the new power

pyrrhus17 02-02-2012 09:12 PM

I wish I lived closer and had 4,000 grand . This thread should be moved to the FI section!
