This is like a game for you guys. I can not speak for him/her...so I guess it will stay as a mystery for now.

Boosted Performance 02-22-2012 10:58 PM

Got a bit more work done the last couple of days.

Port matching: perfect..and everything gets back purged (the proper way to weld tubing) with argon to ensure very smooth joints
on the inside. No back purge= "sugaring" on the inside

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/S1032304.jpg

Any time two solid exhaust banks are joined together a flex pipe is a MUST, so the passenger side looks like so:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/S1032286.jpg

Random shot..

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/S1032292.jpg

All welded up on the outside:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/S1032285.jpg

Passenger side wastegate location:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/S1032284.jpg

Driver side wastegate location:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/S1032282.jpg

The whole thing comes off by removing 6 header bolts and one V-band clamp

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/S1032299.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/S1032302.jpg

The two wastegates will join on the driver side where the transmission ends. Then the single 2" dump tube will be routed in to the down pipe.

I also finally met (face to face) the soon to be owner of what will be my (well, his) 370z turbo kit. After going through all the details and confusing him with the wastegate operation explanation, I think he is excided to get this project started as I am. April should be a good month.

Now that u will have a 370Z in ur hands.. Can u look into those power steering tanks? :D
That is awesome work right there btw!

Edmonton is going to be a GREAT place to be in April! Can't wait to see this kit installed and running, not to mention all the other modding going on in our area!

Boosted Performance 02-28-2012 10:38 PM

Recirc is just about complete. Just have to weld in the 2" V-band and one end of the flex coupling:

Angle of entry it to the down pipe:

Very happy with the clearance, you can see a bit of the 3" down pipe but that is about it. Nothing stick below the skid plates:

 winning!

Recirculating dual wastegates is the way to go and your design looks very kool. I'll be re-doing my exhaust manifold in the near future and it will be similar to this! Are you going to wrap or coat your pipes? What type of piping are you using again? Lovin it!

Yeah, it was a PITA to do, and I have some more ideas for the next DE kit. Will come back to it later on this year. This kit you see here will go on a built block and a 6766 PTE T4 Turbo. Should get some great numbers out of this setup.

I do not plan on wraping things, the customer may. The pipes are 304ss 2" .065" wall tubing. Built to last.

Cell 03-02-2012 04:19 PM

Subbed and what if someone wants open dump pipes? Or want to keep the dual exhaust setup of the stock 370z. I personally don't like a single exhaust sticking out with a hole on the other side.

Oh and the work you do looks amazing. Plus, I wish I lived close to you. I would jump all over this deal.

wheee! 03-02-2012 04:26 PM

Someone already jumped! Looking forward to seeing it in action this spring!!
I'll probably only see his bumper from now on though... :shakes head:

I don't like the single exhaust look either, so I built this for my own car:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...k/IMG_6332.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...IMG_6317-1.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...k/IMG_6323.jpg

This is a 3" exhaust with a modified large straight through resonator, and a straight through 3" rear muffler. Plenty of flow and very stealthy (quiet).

On that note the donor car will have a Fast intentions dual exhaust, so I will have that as an option when I build the down pipes.

Open dumps will be how the kit comes standard, and recirculated wastegates will be an option (more $$$).

Cell 03-02-2012 05:17 PM

Will you be selling these kits in America and if you are will there be a increase cost? I have never bought products outside of the USofA, so I have no idea of what other fees are including in buying something big.

I love the stealth look, would be cool to also have a non-stealthy look exhaust choice too.

This turbo kit will definitely be on my list of options in the near future. What would you expect to sell the kits for?

Also, considering our 370z have oil temp issues, would you also include an option for oil cooling or design the front mount intercooler to fit with other oil cooling options that are out there?

Buying from Canada is no different than buying from within the U.S. There may be an $80 importa tax fee but that is about it. Nothing else is different. As a matter of fact most of the kit would come from within the U.S, because that is where I buy the turbos, w/g's, intercoolers, BOV's...ect. No sense in shipping it up here to me, and then me shipping to the customer. So my supplier ships direct to customer.

I think an oil cooler will be stanard with the kit. If it is an issue, you might as well get a kit that comes with a cooler..:)

I can not discuss cost in detail just yet, as per forum rules and me not having one built for a 370Z. It will be very competitive, and provide better performance (power) than any other ST kit or supercharger kit on the market right now, and some TT kits (lower stages).

Any dyno numbers with the 6266 or 6766 turbo?

Well I didn't know about this .....

Here are a couple on a stock block 350z's with 62mm T4 turbos:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...LD/VASdyno.jpg

This dyno reads a bit high, but you get the idea. Ignore the comment on the dyno page that reads "rear mount", it is not a rear mount kit.:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...LD/Kendyno.jpg

Built block:

This dyno reads about 13% lower than any dynojet I have seen. This is a basic built short block, nothing else...not even a plenum spacer. This was the first time a production single turbo kit made over 500whp on this particular dyno, on pump gas:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...12whp_dyno.jpg

Built block, E85 fuel but the clutch (twin disc) was slipping bad at 5700rpm + (90mi/h). That was on 18psi. You can see on the faded pull (22psi) how the clutch lets go completely. This customer recently upgraded to a triple disc clutch, but has not gone back for a tune as it is still winter where he lives.

The torque drop off after a certain RPM, is that how the 350z motors are or is that because of the turbo?

That is how the stock cams are, causing the torqu drop.

If it was a turbo/kit problem you would see the HP fall. Well, the last dyno falls due to the clutch slipping, not because of the turbo.

Boosted Performance 03-04-2012 05:07 PM

This project is winding down, and I am starting to pack it up.

Some last shots before boxing up:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_6928.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_6922.jpg

The charge pipe that houses the BOV and MAF sensor is not in the picture. I have to polish it still.

And just the hot pipes:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_6916.jpg

Getting the rest ready, as I go through the check list:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_6926.jpg

I will update this thread once the kit is installed and tuned.

Still on schedule for April 1st.

i was wondering when this kit was coming to the 370. i followed your stuff over at my350. now that i know you're making these, this is probably the route i'll take next year. can't wait for the results!

I really want to I know Ray spoke to you about me . The thing is I have a built motor sitting on my engine stand and I'm getting pulled towards twins right now .

If your kit was out by mid April I would 100% order it . I would love to be the first 6766 built motor 370z.

I hope to have these available mid Summer, and mass production next winter for sure. I seems that there is a good amount of interest as there isn't really much out there as far as ST kits go. STS.....well, IMO way too far from the engine....so IMO there is no competition. :)

How has the exhaust piping affected the 350z transmission so far? I was wondering how the heat will be considering how the piping literally wraps around the transmission.

The auto guys will definitely have problems.

Not a problem at all. The amount of air going between the exhaust and the transmission will remove any heat before it reaches the transmission case. The picture are a bit deceiving as well. Not as much piping "wraped" around as it looks.

This is the kind of kit you need to have mounted on a carousel at a carshow! Pure art!!

zguynate 03-27-2012 12:20 PM

Drooool! Man im so happy to see Boosted Performance doing a 370 kit. I followed the build threads on "the other forum" and was amazed at the attention to detail and response to feedback.

Guys I can assure you that Sasha will strive to make this the best kit out there as far as forced induction goes on the 370. Not to mention he is a stand up guy when it comes to customer service. All of the 350z guys with the Boosted Performance kit will agree with me. I was wanting to buy that kit when I paid my 350 off, however 3 weeks after I paid it off it got totaled. So this is awesome news!

Im definitely looking forward to the 370z build thread with this kit!

Boosted Performance 04-04-2012 09:15 AM

The 370 arrived last night, and the build will begin in the next day or two. I am still waiting on the turbo to come in...a big screw-up up Precision on that one....but it will be here on Monday.

At a glance, I noticed that the starter on the 370 is on the driver side. I did not know that, and the charge piping from the turbo to intercooler will have to be routed a bit different than what you have seen in this thread. Other than that things are looking good.

Ron 04-04-2012 09:24 AM
