You are correct, they only way I knew about it was searching the net and in the paper in the auto section, they had a full page on it, so I called me dealer, he had no idea what I was talking about. In fact he told me he talked to other dealers and the same thing, I think cause Canada only got 80 of them they went out to the dealers with the highest sales. In total I think only 3,000 have been made, I have to go back an check but 80 in Can, 380 in the US and in all of Europe 270 or so. I might be off by 25 in total but those are about how many in total they made. I was told only two production runs, on was on Jan 11th, is when mine was made and I think all that got them now came from that production run, the 2nd and last production run is Feb.
When I told my dealer about this car he had to call his contacts at Nissan Canada in Toronto and they only heard that a special edition was in the "plans" but he would pull one aside for me. In Ontario we have a Province tax of 7% and GT of 5% then add in Ext. warranty, freight, air tax, protection plan etc. it adds ups. I did not get the rust protection for the underbody put on, I find that messy so like my Jeep I got that device you have connected to the battery that is ECC rust module complete roadside assistance plus 4 FREE oil changes which on the 370Z is about $94 each. Ya if I got just a reg. Z and went out to upgrade on my own might have saved me a few $$ but for me it's worth it, turn key, get all that I want, and if anything goes wrong I bring it to one place and no finger pointing. I looked at the low model Cayman Porsche and your getting nothing at a base price, time you load her up, looking at low 90, for what your getting with the Z is compared to a fully loaded Porsche at about 40k less. Plus this is a collector item in time and will hold it's value. |
