[QUOTE=s2krazyyy;3630230]Would like someone to chime in on this. By definition of a progressive spring vs linear, the swifts sure do look like the text book definition of a progressive spring. Not saying you are wrong but a linear spring is suppose to have a constant rate which the swifts dont have, but the company says its linear... im confused
It probably depends on how you are counting. What swift is most likely doing is running the initial coils very soft and collapsing instantly and then once compressed it will be a 10k rate from there, just as if you had a 10k linear spring and then helper springs underneath. So if your counting the rate from full extension then yes it's progressive just as a helper and main setup overall rate would be progressive. If your counting after initial sag (ride height) then it may be linear, just as a helper and main setup would be. Really someone needs to put them on a spring tester and test the rate after the "drop/helper coils" have fully compressed to truly verify they are linear. |
