If your Z is going to see track time I would suggest saving up a getting a high quality BBK. If you want something better than the base brakes and do not plan on tracking your Z than the sport package Akebonos would be a great upgrade. That's not really true about the dust shield issue. I have driven my 1975 280zt with Willwoods on every corner for over 80,000 miles with no issues. I also have to drive 1.4 mile down a dirt road to my house. ( I hate that road but is what it is when you live out in the country)
