I wanna replace my rotors and brake pads, ive heard some things about slotted rotors vs regular rotors saying slotted is no good cause u need more to dissipate heat.

Default Rotor Discussion

I wanna replace my rotors and brake pads, ive heard some things about slotted rotors vs regular rotors saying slotted is no good cause u need more to dissipate heat. I need to order today, could I get some recommendations and advise?

Best bang for your buck:
Z1 2 Piece Akebono Front Rotors

The slots on the rotor are to remove gas build up that is generated under heavy braking.

HowStuffWorks "Drilled Brake Rotors"

You can run with drilled and slotted just fine if you don't drive at 10/10th's all the time. If you track regularly then you should spring for slotted only.

For what it's worth... I have the Z1 Drilled and Slotted front rotors and have noticed slight a performance increase with them, less rotational mass.

I also tortured them on US129 (the dragon) @ Zdayz and had zero issues with warping.

I've used drilled rotors for years and never had an issue with drilled rotors. I have only seen that issue if someone was pulling a heavy load with a diesel truck had drilled rotors. In that case, I would opt for standard rotors and add an exhaust brake.

So the z1 is on the lower end on pricing but on the higher end of performance right? Also should I just opt for new oem pads, imo they r really good

The link showed you was for two piece rotors. They are more expensive then solid rotors because they are lighter. On the flipside, they are cheaper than other two piece rotors.

If you don't care about increasing your car's performance you should get these:
Z1 370Z / G37 (Sport) Performance Rotors - Akebono

If you are looking to gain performance then spring for the two piece rotors. The reason for the gained performance is because you are reducing rotational mass. If that makes no sense to you... do some reading:
Rotating Mass, Available Horsepower, and Acceleration

$600 for a set of front rotors? Maybe if you race competitively but even then… My Z is a track only machine and I would never spend that much on rotors.

If you are worried about rotor life why not just buy 5 sets of Centric rotors from Rock Auto. The price will be the same.

If you are in it for looks, then definitely go for the drilled, slotted, 2 piece rotors because they really do look good. I have no problem if that is your motivation.

But if all you are looking for is the best rotors then you need to understand what a rotor does. It is just a heat sink. The more metal the better. And of course, holes and slots remove metal. I suggest that you shop around and pay attention to the rotor weight. Try and find the heaviest rotor in your price range.

I have no idea on the life of your current rotors. I was only helping with the original question. Maybe you don't even need to worry about spending money on rotors. You can have your old rotors turned on a lathe if they have lots of metal left.

Front brakes are about 75% of your stopping power so I don't think you can go wrong spending money there.

The Z1 rotors are meaty so it works well as a heat sync and they stay cool due to the cooling veins. They are on the pricey side but they are good value compared to other two piece rotors:
(The DBA rotors are super nice btw.)

Trust me, less rotational mass is a good thing. You can accelerate quicker, stop quicker and turn in feels better. It's a win all the way around... except on price.

Again, if Minsu doesn't care about the additional performance then he should spring for a 1 piece rotor.

theres also the slotted versions. EBC has some, i ran them previously on my 350z.
