Lately, I've noticed my brakes squeal when the car's cold. After a couple of minutes driving, the squealing goes away and it brakes fine. The car's an '09 with 20k miles, but I've abused the brakes over the years so I decided to have a look at the pads and rotors. Still have 6-8mm of pad left all around. Rotors are all 2mm over the thickness limit; however, I did notice some little marks all over them.
Can this be causing the squealing? I'm interested in knowing what the marks are so I can find out whether I can have them resurfaced or replaced. |
