I'm sure a lot of you here have heard that the new 2013 Z has a euro tuned suspension. I was wondering if there's any user on this fine forum that has actually driven both a 2013 Z and an older Z so that we could have an idea as to whether there's performance to be had or if its more of a marketing gimmick.

I assume a "euro-tuned" suspensions means it can handle more cobbled stone road and some serious pot holes.

Yes, the euro-tunes are more geared for street driving, while older springs were more dual-roles springs for street and track. Nissan decided that since most Z owners don't drive this car for sport purposes, they might as well make the car more comfortable to drive on the street. Giving you the "Euro-Tuned" GT suspension springs.

IMO it's just a marketing gimmick. My friend has a 13 Nismo and it (suspension) looks identical to my 12 Nismo all around.

Where did you hear that?

The story out of NTC Europe was that springs were stiffer and damper valving was better. I know the euro spec dampers from the 350 shat on the US spec ones.

I must know if I need to push for a 2013 model when it comes time to buy my own. lol And I will be modding the car, but the suspension is not something I want to touch too much.

Does it also mean when you buy a 2013 sports package you do not get the Euro spec suspension?

Well I know going down my local highway, it's cement and has stress cuts in it, driving at 60mph it's something like a rough massage. For comparison my old s10 was like being kicked in the butt. This is much rougher.

I would say the performance advantage would be very minor, maybe a half step between the Nismo and older setup.

HA, reading this I already knew you were talking about Utah I-15. I didn't even have to check your location.

That and bangerter highway, I honestly think driving down bangerter is like someone is trying to break my back. In the truck I think there's something wrong with the suspension.
