STILLEN brake cooling kit
Hello all,
I know this is something we have been talking about for awhile, and something you guys have been requesting for even longer. However, the time has come to announce the official release of the STILLEN 370Z brake cooling kit. This kit has been in development for quite sometime as we wanted to take a lot of things into consideration and wanted to do substantial testing before releasing the kit. As promised, this kit is designed to work with our urethane front fascia with the optional "inlet fangs." There will be two kits, one for the people with the fascia, and one for the people with the factory (non-nismo) fascia. This kit utilizes 304 stainless steel which has been laser cut then folded on a 7-axis CNC press. We tested this kit at Fontana Speedway the same day we were testing the new Carbon Ceramic brake discs for the Nissan GT R. Check out the blog and website for more information! I'll call you tomorrow!! Hell yea. And I was just about to put my Stillen J-Hooked rotors on next week?
|
What about a kit for use Nismo owners?
|
Ordered!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!
One thing, the instructions don't say how it attaches to your bumper, just stock. I also ordered the fangs since I don't have them yet. |
Clean installation. The track guys should be happy with this!
|

Did they tell you it was Unobtanium, that's why it cost 10k? :rofl2: I told someone that when I worked at a dealer and he looked at me like :icon08: But I stood my ground and he believed me. It wasn't till they told him he couldn't afford it and had to leave that I felt guilty. Then I had a Pepsi and felt better about myself. |
Really cool. Do you guys have any pictures from the front of a factory front end? The only front view I saw was of your facia with the fang inserts.
|
Why the big price difference between the kit for the Stillen fascia and the one for the stock fascia? Looking at the pictures of the kit they are the same. Or is it that you don't need the front brackets for the Stillen fascia?

Woo I like this. I will probably order one before my next track day. This will allow the pads to last a track day or two longer easily
|
This one is on my list too if it works for people.
|
We're changing the images on the website now. Yes, the STILLEN fascia does not use the smaller brackets. As Mike pointed out, the STILLEN fascia inlets already come designed to incorporate the ducting.
We are looking at what we can do for the Nismo cars. The biggest problem we're having is making it look good. These integrate pretty seamlessly into the factory and STILLEN fascia, unfortunately the Nismo fascia does not have a good opening for this. |
...guess this will present the stock bumper folks who are using those holes to route cold air to the engine bay with decisions to make...
|
Wonder if this can be modded for the Amuse bumper??
|
Will this work for a G37
|
Curious for install pics
|
My concern is how the tubing will route through the passenger side since my oil cooler lines run through the same space.
|
SOLD
Calling as soon as i'm home. :driving: |

Realistically, if you have a G37 and/or a Nismo 370Z, the STILLEN fascia kit will be the one to go with. The backing plates and hoses will all work fine, it's just a matter of getting the mounting bracket for intake to work. The big problem we're having when looking at the Nismo, is making it look right. And to be honest, we haven't looked at the G's yet. Quote:

any pics from the front of the Z after the install?
|
yea good luck getting nismo owners to swap to a fanged front end.... pffftt
|
Kyle,
Can you please comment on compatibility with your oil cooler kit and the lines running around the passenger side? It seems like the oil lines and brake ducting need to go through the same area. |

By the way, I feel like it is my responsibility to throw out a "caution" before anyone decides to get creative.
When designing this product we looked at our options of materials and chose to use 304 stainless steel rather than a lesser grade and less expensive material because we did not want to have any tolerances changed by the plating thickness and/or vehicle tolerances. This area is so critical that we actually include eight 3 mm shims in case you find that your car requires additional clearance due to vehicle tolerances. Because of this, we decided to keep them non-coated and go with the 304 stainless steel. So the caution is, on the hub backing plates, I would not suggest having these coated. In regards to the front inlets, the tolerances aren't critical with those so painting them or having them coated will make no difference. The only reason we didnt is because it would add significant cost and we wanted to keep these under $300.00. At the end of the day, once they're installed, very few people will actually see them. |
Very cool. I have no tracks near me but I might get them just to say I have them LOL.

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...tml#post101626 the challenge is having someone develop a kit for ease in installing or so you don't have to be creative about it... maybe the guys at Z speed can recreate their undercover tray/shroud with a couple scoops or something... making a statement to just buy the stillen fascia kit is a bit too much imo... |
Yes, sorry if I gave the impression of "just buy our fascia." Definitely not what I was trying to convey.
The primary reason we don't have an answer for the Nismo's or G's yet is because we have been sitting on these for quite some time and wanted to get them out. We actually completed engineering back in October, did our testing at Fontana then have been waiting to launch them until we had parts on the shelves. We will look at the Nismo's and G's next but I did not want to hold up the release for those with stock or STILLEN fascia's. And like I mentioned earlier, if you are looking to fit this kit to something other than a STILLEN or factory fascia, I would probably go the direction of the STILLEN fascia kit, other wise there is a good chance the additional brackets won't fit your application. Also, we have tested these on O.E. base and sport model brakes as well as our AP Racing big brake kit. I do not see any reason as to why they wouldn't work with other big brake kits but we can not guarantee fitment on other kits. Quote:
