Fortune Auto True Coilovers, Experiences/Opinions?

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on these coilovers? I'm looking for something for daily driving and being able to adjust height. They seem to be a quality "budget"

Default Fortune Auto True Coilovers, Experiences/Opinions?

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on these coilovers? I'm looking for something for daily driving and being able to adjust height. They seem to be a quality "budget" coilover in the $1000-$1300 range. Quality looks to be better than the Stance, BC, and Megans. Custom spring rates and you have the option of adding spring helpers and Swift Springs. Here is more info and a dyno plot:

* Dyno tested***
* Stainless steel body / piston
* 30-way adjustable dampers
* Pillowball mounts
* Forged aluminum locking collars
* Dust boots on all pistons
* 50mm piston (beyond the industry standard of 44-47mm)
* Anodized aluminum camber plates** on front upper-mounts
* Fully anodized body
* 1 year Manufacturer's Warranty
* Height adjustment independent of preload
* ISO 9002 certification

We actually have a set of these in stock for the 370z, but they are $1250 shipped for the 500 series as apose to the $1099 price. Fortune charges extra for the way the 370z rear mounts are designed. Let me know if you have any other questions!

They look like rebadged HSD coilovers.

Zombie bump... anybody have anything new to add on these?

I'm having a hard time deciding what coils to get. These are popular w/ the Z33 guys. BC's are good budget coils that I'm considering. I could also step up to KW's, but I'm not sure if the extra $$ is justifiable for the type of driving I'll be doing.

We are a Fortune Auto dealer as well and I have extensive experience with these units. Hopefully I can bridge the gap for you guys.

The 500 Series is their basic set. It is comparable to the BC entry level units. BC uses an old Ohlins design, so the valving is OK, but the springs are poor. This is very common to most entry level coils on the market. The Fortune Auto 500 series also has a very basic spring and standard valving. The Fortune Auto is fully rebuildable and upgradeable in the US.

The 510 Series is a very different coil from the 500 Series. The 510 is a good option for the track enthusiast. You will find the Swift spring option a very smart upgrade as well. Swift make one of the best springs on the market,and paired with the 510 Series, you have an excellent alternative to the KW Ver3.

The KW V3 is a very good shock albeit a little soft for competition use in its off the shelf form. The KW has exceptionally good manners on the street, but that can be its shortcoming on the track. You will find you will want a little more adjust-ability once you start getting to the limit.

SO the 500 and the BC are very similar. I think the Fortune is aesthetically more appealing, but that is just my opinion. The base models will perform very similarly. The 510 is a far better unit and add the Swift springs and you have a very nice setup indeed. It(510) is very similar to the KW, but the Fortune has the Swift springs which are better than the KW springs. The KW, however, maintains the stock style rear....spring and strut separate.

I hope this helps a bit. Feel free to email or PM me with any questions.

John

That's not even possible considering HSD is inverted. Also HSD and Stance are out of the same factory in Korea.....These are out of Taiwan

What happens to the spring bucket when you go with a true type coilover setup?

You can replace it with the SPL midlink or just leave it.

Ill be ordering a set of these for my 240 in a few months. I personally know a few people with these coilovers and them and everyone I have read on Zilvia love these. Especially with the Swift springs.
