Default Maximum Drop From Coilovers...

I am in the market for some coilovers... and have been doing some research... but i was curious to what people's opinions were, since reading specs on a piece of paper is different than actual usage of the product itself... i don't track the car, don't race it, its my dd... i would like to not sacrifice much ride quality, but would like an aggressive drop... i looked into springs but the drops were to modest... any info would help, thanks...

How careful do you want to approach speed bumps and drainage ditches?

I did a fairly mild drop of 1 inch on the BC Racing ER coilovers and I constantly scrape the little air deflectors in front of the front tires. The car definitely looks much better with just that inch drop.

I am down 1.5 inches on BC coilovers and it is LOW. The BC's can actually go a lot lower, though I already can't drive over much so it would be damn near sitting on the ground.

Anything more than a 1.5" drop would make driving the Z a PITA. A 1" drop on eibachs would be good. A 1.2" on Swifts is perfect or the most aggressive drop of 1.5" on H&Rs. GL.

I agree, my drop on the Swifts is low enough so that the car scrapes the plastic flaps under the front bumper on anything more than a slightly dip but I think that the 1.2" F 1.0" R drop is perfect.

Go with air-suspension, put it high for comfort and low for looks...

I still have my front lip spoiler. It scrapes but you can sand out the scrapes since it's not painted.

^ I think the under spoiler scraping is a good insurance that your front bumper doesnt.

I have learned my lesson just cause its a top brand like KW and HKS doesnt mean it the best. I am prototyping some new coilovers for Powertrix and I must admit there better then my KW V3
