Default Suspension Comparison (Coilovers, Springs, Sway Bars)

I think the first mod for my 2010 Solid Red Z will be working with suspension. I'm thinking about coil-overs and have done some research but the only reviews I have found are regarding the Megan Coil-overs and it comes with mixed reviews. I was considering these but I'd like to hear what everyone has and what there thoughts are.

Things to think about when giving thoughts...

Dampening
Street ability
Track ability
Supporting Mods

I'm looking at the Stance Coil overs now and want to hear some input from everyone.

This can be regarding sways, coil overs, and springs.

Depending on what the Z forums say I'm going to lean towards whats the best bang for my buck with flexibility.

Also pics would be nice as well. Looking to put all useful information in 1 spot for all future 370Z owners to find.

Stance are good, BC are Good, KW's rock!, HKS (what I currently have) are good.

My biggest complaint about HKS coilovers is the rebound/compression mappings... They dont work well with a car without beefier sway bars. Even with the Beefier Sway bars I believe the Rebound/compression mappings are off leading to a stiff ride and somewhat bouncy response. Honestly, I kick myself in the butt everyday for not going with my gut and choosing the tried and true KW V3's!

enough of my rant...

anyway, If you want to pick the right Coilover you must first choose the application and driving style.

Aggressive drivers and trackday guys will love the BC's, Teins, KW's and other higher end coilovers... Also if your into tracking or aggressive driving you want a unit that is a two way system that has independent rebound and compression... for you track junkies its a 3 way system that has rebound and hi/lo speed compression.

For guys who just street drive: Tein, Stance, BC, KW's, HKS (on softer settings) and etc...

For those who want to slam the car: BC's, Stance, Air Ride Technologies...

Megan coilovers are ok I have found that most people that I talked to that bought them sold them for something better. Yes its a cheap option but you also get what you pay for too.

Have had good experience with the BC ER type coilovers as have others, 30 step 2-way adjustment of compression and rebound, good adjustment range for street to track, no bouncing. Only complaint is that the rebound adjuster for the rear shocks is really hard to reach given the location of the lower shock mount. I complimented the setup with Hotchkis sway bars and adjustable upper control arms. For a more compliant street ride I would pair up with Stillen sway bars instead. The Hotchkis sway bars by themselves (without an alignment change) generate a lot of understeer.

Air Ride Technologies is one of the biggest manufacturers of Air suspensions in the US! A fully decked out system will cost you about $5k... but you will be able to go from rancho 4x4 to dragging your frame on the ground in about 2 seconds!!!

The ride quality is really nice as the use a regular shock body but use rubber air pillows instead of springs. They have a new unit coming out this spring to replace their Really expensive Titanium lineup... the new product will be cheaper and the shocks will be made by Fox racing specifically for race-street applications
