Question for those who have lowered their Z. I am coming up on a month of ownership with my car, and the first thing I changed out was the wheels/tires.
I went with 19x9.5 with 25 offset in the front, and 19x10.5 with 12 offset in the rear. I played it safe with the tire sizes and just duplicated what the Nizmo Z runs with 245/40 front and 285/35 rears. The wheel gap is killing me, so lowering the car is a must. When I purchased the wheels, I was expecting them to be pretty flush with the fenders, but they actually stick out about 1cm at the top of the wheel. I'm looking to lower it as much as I can without having to run much more negative camber than stock. I was going to go with coilovers, but am now just thinking about using Swift springs and lowering it about an inch. Is there anyone with similar size wheels that could post pictures of their setup so I can get an idea of what to expect? |

WOW370, your setup is a million times better looking and functional than those retarded cambered out crap rides.

This is all on the owner. I don't understand the reason why he would want that look on a sports car. It looks silly. The hellaflush craze is now about people topping each other's setups. No end in sight.
Kudos to Nesson Forged to getting the customer what he wanted though. |

I will never ever get that type of setup. With an engineering background it just blows me away that somebody would buy wide wheels and proceed to throw skinny tires on them with so much negative chamber that half of the tire is literally off the ground. The entire point of wide wheels is to fit wide rubber. The entire point of wide rubber is to increase grip. How does wide rubber increase grip? By increasing the size of the contact patch. This setup does the exact opposite of this.
I know it is just for looks but it looks ridiculous too. |
