yesterday I ordered the SPC rear camber arms kit w/toe bolts too complete my suspension setup for now  i dont want to eat my tires lol my car is a DD

I have the SPC camber arms and was able to get the toe-in in spec (barely) without the toe bolts. I am thinking I will likely install the toe bolts anyway in order to have greater leeway.

Tribalpinoy91 03-11-2014 10:54 PM

To get in spec bare minimum required are the camber arms?

Huck 03-11-2014 11:55 PM

I got my wheels back in spec without any other suspension mods, but its not that often that happens.

So...got my Swift Springs installed today! unfortunately... they didn't remove the front rubber insulator and place it on the Swifts. Man I even told the guy he needed to remove the rubber insulator and put it on the new Swift Springs, and there's a sheet of instructions tell the installer to move the rubber insulators over to the Swifts. Got home, opened up the Swift box with the oem springs and there they were, the rubber insulators!!!!!! The ride was perfectly fine, no metal on metal noise or anything strange but I think I'm going to call them up tomorrow and ask them to redo, I don't want some creaking noise or what not down the road. So excited yet so disappointed by the job.

Speaking of which, do you know where I can get some more rubber insulators? I don't know what they are called and have tried a number of searches under "spring bushing," "spring dampener," etc with no results.

carlitos_370z 03-12-2014 02:19 PM

my springs arrive today :excited: now wating for the SPC rear camber kit that they have to arrive this Friday... if they arrive this Friday im going to install everything this weekend :happydance:

Pnoyz916 04-02-2014 12:56 PM

Squeak

I have swifts and have same problem. My deriver front sits higher than passenger. Is this normal will it settle down

QUOTE=Cristobal09;1522337]I agree, the ride is definitely rougher. You arent on crack, its the same way for me. But I dont have a Nismo.

I love my swifts but for some reason cannot track down the reason why they make a very slight squeaking noise from inside the cabin on the front springs when im driving real slow and when Im pulling into my driveway. If Im cruising at normal speeds I dont hear a thing. I have had them reinstalled twice, the lower "sleeve" is on there like the instructions said....not a big deal but sort of annoying when driving in parking lots.[/QUOTE]

Add Koni's.

They take the car to a whole new level.

Which Koni's would be those if i may ask. Paired with
the swift springs.

I am running Koni Sport (Yellow) with excellent results.

Call Joe Allison at ZSpeed Performance for a great deal.

Well I've had my swifts on for about 700 miles now and absolutely love them. The ride is MUCH better than stock. It almost feel softer, yet the springs are much stiffer. Swift magic :D

I finally got aligned today, and was not one of the lucky ones that didn't need a rear camber kit. Guess I know what's in my near future.

Camber Front Left: -1.5
Camber Front right: -1.8
Toe L/R: 0.0

Camber Rear Left: -2.9
Camber Rear Right: -2.4
Toe in L/R: .06
Total toe in: .12

I did a search on alignment specs, and didn't really find what I was looking for in regards to ideal toe settings. For a street car, I should be going for 0 toe up front and slight toe in on the rear correct? Like what I have now? Seeing as I'll be getting another alignment when I have my rear camber kit installed, I'll have another opportunity to fine tune the settings.

Toe looks good to me. I have been trying to work out toe settings for the past couple weeks. There's not much on here with specific numbers... I've been to the alignment shop 5 times in the past 3 weeks trying to dial her back in. I have had Swifts for 8 months, and recently put camber kits on along with 265/35 - 305/30 tires. She drove like sh!t after, and it was my toe settings. As it turns out I don't really need front A-arms. I have front camber at -2.0 which you can almost get with OEM. You probably want adjustable camber arms out back to get a little less - camber. Shoot for -1.75 to -2.0, it's most common.
...my 2 cents.

Tribalpinoy91 05-14-2014 07:50 PM

Should I be worried about Swifts and 19in wheels with 265/305 profile tires? offsets +20
+15

Zbrah 05-14-2014 08:27 PM

No.

b15 05-16-2014 08:28 PM

Well got her dialed in today with the SPC rear camber kit. Final numbers are:

Camber Front Left: -1.5
Camber Front right: -1.9
Toe L/R: 0.0

Camber Rear Left: -1.9
Camber Rear Right: -1.8
Toe in L/R: .06
Total toe in: .12

I'm pleased with how it's driving now.

rlhotka 05-19-2014 06:52 PM

I'm going swift's and koni's and getting rear camber kit but my qu is do I need front adj upper A arm? Sounds like I don't. Not tracking the just autocross once in awhile.

Tribalpinoy91 05-22-2014 08:02 AM

No you don't* need* them but you may want to purchase them for greater flexibility with adjustments on the track...you can answer that one yourself

kenchan 05-22-2014 02:02 PM

the only time i would consider front a-arm is if i need to dial in more camber or if my L/R camber is off by more than 0.2 degrees.

khan7860 05-29-2014 10:20 PM

Any advice on what vendor would be best for Swift SPEC-R and Rear Camber kit for the best price. SPC rear camber kit is what Im looking for, daily driver no track.

NORAIN 05-30-2014 04:43 AM

Kamispeed, Zspeed, Concept Z, all about the same price. You might find one ships free...

Thanks man, yea I got a price quote for $490 dollars with swift spec r and spc rear camber kit shipped from an online vendor. It seems like a good price to me. Thanks again.

coolvans1988 05-30-2014 12:41 PM

I got mine installed about a week ago, the ride comfort is a lot better (base model).
Did give me a good drop, but now waiting on my camber kit to put on.

Ill purchase the koni shocks later by the end of the year.

Great upgrade for sure!!

No problem, seems a little high though. The springs are usually around $315 and the rear camber kit $90ish. Did that include toe bolts? There about $30...
I'm pretty sure I got mine shipped free too.

b15 05-30-2014 03:47 PM

I bought my springs from Kamispeed and SPC camber kit through amazon. $90 includes the toe bolts.

Tribalpinoy91 06-06-2014 08:13 AM

After spring install, without an alignment, how many miles do you drive?

I don't want to put much wear on the tires but still want to be able to let the springs settle.

P.S. Its been roughly 2 days and 15 miles since I installed my springs

Thanks fellas

Huck 06-06-2014 08:23 AM

Let the springs settle for about a week and you should be good to go

Zdayz 2014!!

Huck 06-06-2014 08:23 AM

Mileage doesn't really matter as much as the amount of time the springs are compressed under the weight of the car.

Thanks, I didn't want to drive it too much with the alignment out of whack so i wanted to see what mile number would start to put wear on the tires?

Huck 06-06-2014 08:37 AM

Nah, after a few months if your camber is out of whack you'll notice wear, but a week you should be fine.
