Default Megan Racing Coilover question

Ok so today i went to the shop and got my megan racing coilovers installed that i bought from another forum members and there was a slight problem, you see i wanted to lower my car as flush as possible but when the mechanic put the coilovers on, the rear set wouldn't go any lower then about an inch on the other hand the front could still go lower, if i wanted, so i was wondering is it because i have to let the springs settle in the back b4 it can go lower or is it something else. I will post some pics soon also if anyone has the experienced the same problems with their megan coilovers on their Z please comment

it's probably because the shocks are in different length. look at this picture and do you see the ring on the rear shock? you need to loosen it up and turn the whole shock to raise or lower the car.

It should definitely go lower than an inch. Check and make sure the install was done correctly. If you are not sure post pictures and we can give suggestions.

From what I understand, you are asking if you max out the front and rear, should the car be level? From what I gather, that is NOT the case. You have to adjust them. Kinda sucks huh. I would of liked it to be at stock or a little higher height maxed out for when you want to go 4X4in.... lol

no im asking why isnt my rear going lower then an inch even tho i maxed the rear springs all the way and for my fronts they are perfectly normal cuz the mechanic said i could go lower in the front if i wanted too but for the rear he said it couldnt go any lower.

there's another height adjustment on the shock itself. Not just the spring.

I think you installed the springmounts upside down. That is what you use to lower the z, not the shocks.

DIY coilover install

take a look at my last pic of my coilovers.

If I were you I would take it to a shop that knows how to install coilovers that separate the shocks and springs because you're going to have to preload the rears or they will rattle.

How are you going to adjust the collars when you can't reach it because it's inside the lower metal arm thing? You should remove the top rubber piece, flip your spring and the spring mount around and make sure the rubber piece that sits in the metal pan is still there. I'm pretty sure this is how your megans are supposed to be assembled.

i just noticed that, it is installed upside down. the spring collars are suppose to be on top. you gotta remove that rubber and re use the one that was on the bottom.

Ding ding ding!! We have a winner!!!

Anyways, I'd suggest never taking your car to the place you installed the coilovers at. Installing the rear spring upside down? Uh.
