Default Track out rear wheels?

The shop that is adding a backup camera and stainless steel brake lines and SAE 5 brake fluid suggested I track out the rear wheels 10mm each. This is a new idea to me. He suggested it to fill some of the visual gap in the rear fender. I never thought there was much of a gap, but the Ferrari parked next to my Z did have the rear wheels further out. (Yeah it's an expensive, but worth it mod shop).

Does anyone have any experience/suggestions regarding this mod?

What does tracking the wheels out mean? Do u mean spacing them out? If so you can easily do that yourself with wheel spacers. H&r makes great hubcentric ones and aren't very expensive at all.

Do a search on "spacers" and you will find much information. I am running 20mm spacers on the rear of my Z and 15mm on the front. The only advice I will give is that you should consider the type of spacers that come with new, longer lugs to make up for the thickness of the spacers, and they should definitely be hubcentric. The bolt on type will not work on the front unless you go with at least 20mm thick on the front. I am running H&R spacers and I got them from Stillen.

just curious, how much $ did he want to 'track out' your wheels. all they do is install spacers.

H&R Spacers, 15mm front, 20mm rear is a common recommendation. If you're doing the front, get the stud replacement. The rear can be either stud replacement or bolt-on. My shop charged $125 to do all four corners with stud replacement. Spacers are about $125 a pair.

if that's spacers + new stud installation that's not a bad deal. make sure he uses hubcentric spacers with the lip for the wheel bore. otherwise your studs could snap.
