Adding OEM LSD to a Touring

I have a 370Z Touring without the Sport Package. I had plans right from the get go to add my own parts along the way and saving $3,000 to invest

Default Adding OEM LSD to a Touring

I have a 370Z Touring without the Sport Package. I had plans right from the get go to add my own parts along the way and saving $3,000 to invest in those seemed like a good idea. I have the opportunity to buy a low mileage (<3,000) OEM viscous LSD which would include the pinion gears but I know there are differences between parts within the differential of the non-LSD version.

What all is needed to swap in an OEM LSD into a non-LSD diff?

Bump for any help! Does anyone know what is needed to go from a non sport package differential to an OEM viscous LSD? Any help is appreciated.

in all honesty i really dont like the OEM viscous...im not happy with it at all..please go with a good aftermarket LSD like quaife

I don't think I will ever be a good enough driver to fully utilize or appreciate a real LSD like Quaife or OS Giken and could get an OEM LSD for less than $200. Is it simply not worth it even over a stock open differential?

For me I wouldn't waste any money on it...if you do decide to move on it then you'll probably need the stub axles as well..I haven't looked at mine yet but it probably has conical flanges instead of flat and one might be longer than the other?

Thanks Wish, I guess if the stock LSD is not a discernable upgrade over the stock open differential, I will save my money. The only problem is that I am not sure when I would be able to pony up for a real aftermarket LSD but I will take your advice and just wait until I can do it properly.

If I see a stock LSD up for sale under $150, I probably won't be able to resist but I haven't noticed the inside wheel wanting to spin through corners when throttle is applied.

your open diff is actually already designed to accept an aftermarket LSD...id seriously just hold off and save money on a good one..
