no, staying for the foreseeable future on aggressive street tires. Juno told me she feels like she's starting to need more braking, so before I spring for the am performance bbk, I want to try running the xp10's. My only worry is potentially triggering ice mode, hasn't been a problem on 8s all around. If 10's all around trigger it, might try the xp10/xp8 f/r combo after that. we'll see what happens.

Let me know after you test that. Has AM released there kit?

I'm really undecided where I want to go. I want a good track car but a balance of still being streetable at all times. That's why went with 8's at the moment. And I'll probably stay on street tires (RE 11's). But time will tell.

When Shamu posted about having their bbk, I pm'd am performance and they indicated that I could purchase it from them as well iirc, or that it would be available at some point, I'd have to go back thru my pm's and see exactly what they said. I can confidently say that at some point in the future, our Z will have their (or perhaps stoptech) bbk. I can also see us puchasing am performance's jrz coilover setup as well at some point.

Kinda of in the same boat as you wiht our Z. it sees a significant amount of track time, but neither of us are willing to turn it inot a a strictly track only car, it will be stayinga dual use car, with an emphasis on track for the foreseeable future. Running PS2s currently (since PSS aren't available in our stock sizes yet and the RE11's were sold out when we needed tires a month ago).

stoptech too, but I ran XP12s with my brembo/akebono combo too.

I also have run the XP12s with my AD-08 tires, and while you will get lock up a little earlier, they are still manageable with (semi) street tires.

I'd love to have some JRZ's. But my funds next year are going to have towards seats, harness, and 4point cage. Plus I have some other things but nothing thats track related. But I can say my Stance coilovers really impressed me highly my last track day. My instructor shock on how planted and firm my car was. Which Stance has higher spring rates which I love.

pls keep me/everyone else that cares, posted on where/what company does your cage, I'm assuming you're going with a one off custom piece since it seems there's no "bolt in" option afaik.

Am I right in assuming that Carbotech doesn't make xp8 for non sport brakes?
I really don't want to upgrade to sport brakes. Would good pads, SS lines, and a quality fluid be enough for the occasional autocross or should I suck it up and fork out for the sport brakes?

Yeah the stock brakes will be okay for auto-cross, it takes several back to back runs on a hot day and a long course to get them overheated.

Agree with Chris. You don't need to do anything to a stock 370 to be able to autocross. Go enjoy the car.

I thought about upgrading pads, but I agree with this. When I get my 370Z, it will stay OEM pads. Why? because the brake-pads are just fine with the rest of the car. If you want to SERIOUSLY track it, from what I understand:

Oil cooler
Different diff
Different rotors
Different pads
Brake ducting
Upgrade brake-fluid

etc.etc.etc.

The 370Z is not my Z06. It's not an all-out track effort. It's meant for people like me who will have some fun with it through the twisties, and do an HPDE every now and then just to enjoy the atmosphere and BS with friends and learn a little something.

I have come to appreciate that concept a lot more, having now owned a no BS track-ready-from-the-box car. You can't have it all. Not for under $100K. Start getting into the AMG BLACK series cars and the like, and you can...but that's not germane to the discussion.

I just put ceramics on my Infiniti G20 and love them. Good on Nissan, I think. The no-dust even from my cheap pads on my G20 is astounding. That car dusted the rims BAD with the OEM brake pads.

I miss dusting the hell out of my rims. I am running HPS now and they are nice on the street and my wheels look squeaky clean even after a month... but I want my Ferodos back.

If anybody wants some Hawks HP+ pads I'll make a killer deal on them. Only have about 2000 miles on them. They are dusty. Just want to move them. I need to post them up.
