Z1 SS Brake Lines help...Good Quality?

I recently purchased & installed the Z1 Motorsports SS brake lines. I was unsure with which brand to go with, but since I respect Z1 and they track test their stuff I went with them. I'm not sure i it was a bad bleed or what, but the petal is now pretty inconsistant. It goes down 1/4-1/2 of the way down before it stiffens up. Sometimes I have to double tap the brakes to get the pressure up to stop, which is annoying. The guy I had install these really thought these were not fully braided, which Z1 claims they are. He said the lines were expanding a tiny bit when stepping on the brake petal, which i dont think should happen. I was wondering if anyone else has installed these and if they have any info that could anwser whats going on. Im going to Nissan tomorrow to have them re-bleed the lines (3rd time) to get any air that might be trapped. If that doesnt fix it I don't know what to do

Oh and btw, you need 4-5 bottles of brake fluid, not 2 as sites have suggested. 2 to flush the system out, and 2-3 to fill the tank up, hope that helps others.

It's unlikely the lines are at fault, regardless of who makes them. I would make no less than 3 full passes around each caliper before calling it done. Probably some air still trapped in the system. Even one bubble can cause the pedal to feel inconsistent.

Did you change pads or rotors at the same time?

No just the Lines, the guy knew his stuff but I guess our brakes are a pain to bleed. Nissan "should" be able to bleed these propertly...I hope. I mean it is a OEM product so maybe they have different procedures for bleeding the sport pkg akebono's. I really hope your right, and there are some tiny bubbles still left in there that they could get out.

We have these lines on the shop car at Z1 and after the 370Z Southeast mountain ride the technician that drove the car ranted and raved about how good the brakes felt.
I also want to blame a small bubble but we will stand behind our product is there is a defect with a line.

With the Sport Package equipped cars, there will be 8 bleed points around the car (2 per caliper). The bleed pattern should work like any car (beginning with the wheel furthest from the Brake Master Cylinder working closer.) with the exception that you need to bleed the outside bleed screw first then move to the inside bleeder on each wheel.

This will take a while to do, it is not a quick job by any means if done correctly.

No problem Dustin, i'm taking it to Nissan tomorrow for oil change & ams short shifter install. I'm going to have them bleed the lines again, also I was told that I needed 2 more brake fluid bottles as the 2 bottles were not enough, 2 to flush and 2 to fill.

Apparently he didn't. I've done this twice and had no issues whatsoever. As pointed out earlier there are multiple Bleed screws on these calipers. Each needs to be purged separately

Update, I'm gonna order 2 more bottles of motul-600, then have Nissan rebleed the system. It has felt better the last 2 days tho(brake-in maybe?) should I feel more of a difference with the motul 600 fluid.

No, you won't feel ant difference with different fluid. The only thing it does for you is allow the brakes to get hotter without fading,an issue you would only have on track
