Default Nismo Suspension Question - Plz Help

By now you can tell I really love this car with all the pics, posts etc. but the fender gap bothers me.

Car rides exceptionally stiff but I've grown used to it already and now I'm starting to like it.

So here's the question, if I want to lower it say...an inch max then can I go with the Eibach springs or am I losing the whole Nismo handling package? I would much rather have handling then looks so if I need to leave it as is then OK but if I could get both that would be cool. Is it me or does the front of the Z's appear a tad higher then the rear?

Maybe I was just wearing one shoe at the time..

I believe the Nismo has a stiffer suspension, and for lowering the Z, one choice is coilovers due to their adjustability, choice two is more of a budget choice, which are the eibach springs, the eibach springs will lower the car about 1'' 1/4 like mine is, if money's not an issue coilovers are the way to go if your going to be tracking the Z, if it's for a dd it's overkill in my opinion.

The eibach pro kit springs are stiffer than the sport package ones and eibach sportline springs are even stiffer and lowers the car even more.

That's good enough for me. Eibach's it is. Coilovers are a bit too much $ for me. Suppose I could afford it but I want to put some money into the brakes and maybe a supercharger. I may hit willow springs once or twice but I'll never race and since I'm really a bike guy I have a ways to go before I can outdrive what this car can do already.

Really appreciate the feedback, thank you both!

get a good set of coilovers, they will be adjustable and better than your nismo susp.

BTW way to get a nismo and then throw all this heavy audio crap in it

I knew I would hear hell for that but the amps way really nothing. I just dont care for speaker boxes that you can see and as noisy as the car is I wanted something to overpower it.

Please don't take this the wrong way but all the ambitions everyone has to lose weight on their cars is kind of a crack up. They could just as easily stop eating burgers. People used to spend 1000's upon 1000's for carbon tanks and bodywork for their bikes only for their belly to hide it all.

I personally like carbon for the look, the hood I put on isn't that much lighter but to each their own.

Sometimes a little weight is ok, figure the motor is pretty front heavy I'm certain the system won't kill my performance that much and besides, all these cars whether Z, GTR or anything else are probably more car then most of us really need anyway.

Its overkill but sure sounds great

You kidding me?

Wouldnt miss it for the world! Supposed to make another trip to Hong Kong this month but I'd rather meet you guys.

Funny thing is my wife wants to go now...met her on my ZX7 15 years ago on Main Street in Huntington Beach so cool with me she's now growing fond of Z's. Plus she's still a hot wife so proud to bring her

There's quite a few pics of my car under Members cars. If you need specific shots let me know, just takes a sec to shoot some more.

It was a little work to put it on but with a little research it turns out I likely bought a pre production model and if you get stumped drop me a note as I found all the parts I needed at Pep Boys for about 30 bucks. Hood ran be about 650 out the door.

So Tony at FI is working on custom headers which eliminate the Cat's, seeing that you have headers, does it make it much louder, did you get much of a power gain? Not to sound old but I really don't want it too much louder, perfect as it is. Did the ECU flash help? I used to get 5-7 HP on GSXR's from my shop, did it make a difference and can I ask what it set you back?

Thx!

It won't hurt to install it, but for the gains and expense, it's not too much unless your trying to squeeze all the Hp from every bolt-on out there, so that's up too you. a local shop would have everything needed to do this install including a lift that make life easier, and you wont need to get dirty!

and on a side note, I see you have the fi exhaust installed, and asked about lowering the Z, now some have had issue's with scraping in some rare instances so be aware of this issue.
