Connecting iPod - Displaying Video

I've got an AV cable that connects from the headphone output on my iPod Touch and splits into audio L/R and video. I tried a video clip from the ipod

I tried a video clip from the ipod and it outputs the audio but no video. Do I need a cable that connects from the data output of the ipod for video to display or do I need to tweak some settings elsewhere?
