Great stuff bezzita. I'm sure you will be stoked with the Exhaust setup. Everyone so far seems extremely happy with the F.I. setup so far. The sound and Power gains that have been had are great.

You'll probably get yours before us now damn it. Dosnt matter it's going to be great once they do get here.

Hey there GTR', firstly some great pics in your journal thread mate. Hopefully on our next cruise we can get some along those lines.

Now as for the AFR we were all a bit surprised. More so the Mech's and Tuner that is (I love my cars but only have very basic understanding of some things). The two main conclusions they came to and I would agree are:

1-Nissan have decided to run our cars much richer than the US/Japan Spec cars due to our generally lower grade fuel. This seems to be the case with most JP cars as we seem to have a lower rated HP rating on a lot of cars. I personally have always run BP Ultimate and have had my best results from that fuel.

2-Their O2 sensor might have been off as well (think thats what gets the AFR). As this was just a PWR run there was no REAL calibration done. It was just for a before and after comparison.

As for a tune I'm definitely in for an ECU of some sort. Haltech are meant to be in the process of doing a dedicated one for the 370Z like they did with the 350Z. If we are generally running that rich there is some great room for improvement.

On that note, when your tail pipe is getting blackish, that is generally from a car running rich yes?

Thanks for the compliment Stu. Anyone with questions please fire away as there a few of us now that have the intakes and will be getting the exhausts as well.

Hi gromano, also thanks for the compliment mate. It definitely makes the engine bay look better that's for sure. One point the Mech's made is that hopefully a clueless Cop dosnt pull us over as they might think it's a Turbo kit as you cant see the filters. My first ever write up so trying my best.

Nice number for a base run mate. As we all know Dynos vary so much from place to place and brand to brand. The main thing to keep in mind is that it is just a tuning tool and that you can hopefully go back to the same place to get it re-done once you get some mods. I'm more than happy with what I got as it was a pretty damn hot day for this time of year.

Now the other more mechanically minded guys will hopefully correct me if I'm wrong here (]Wiki AFR[/COLOR]) is that Rich means more Fuel is going in. I think for our cars anything under 12.5:1 is a rich mixture. Also generally the AFR gets richer higher in the RPM range to make sure there is no pinging. There could be a sticky on here about that but havnt looked.

hey ps. keep a note of how much everything costs you will ya Coz im thinking of doing the same eventually...
Definitely up for the cruise mate. Just cant wait to get the exhausts done and put the foot down to HEAR what it's like. I reckon we will see some nice gains again without the Stock Cats being in place. We are getting the Resonated Test pipes and from F.I. testing they gained about 4-6hp more than the other combos. Although they were only running the stock intakes, so hopefully we might gain a bit more.

As for costs I do have all that down. As long as the other guys are ok with it, I have no problems letting people know what I paid. That way people can get an idea of what to expect. Also comes down to what the exchange rate is at the time.

Thumbs up Heads UP to check this...

Just wanted to give a little heads up to the other guys that have this installed and also who plan to get it done. After going for spirited drive yesterday with my dealer (crazy man LOL). I noticed a slight knocking noise that wasn't there before.

I'm not sure what part this is, but on the Passenger side it was a bit loose, so all I did was loosen the Hose clamp and push it in a bit more and re-tighten. The driver side was fine. Once i re-tightened the knocking noise was gone. Just something very easy that could be missed and hopefully any other issues that might arrise we can sort out.

Default Youtube.

Hey Guys,

Just took the car for a quick spin around the block and got a little video. It's only from a Point & Camera, but it does give an idea of the sound for the Intakes. It was done with the windows down and 2nd gear. Will try for a better effort later.

You will need to turn up your volume a bit though LOL.

Well Done on doing the install and getting the review to us. However I dont see that these intakes are worth the $$$ considering you only get the gains over 6500rpm and you are actually losing torque in the lower rev range and a fair amount between 1500 and 2000rpm.

I also think that its another story once the bonnet is closed and you dont have a big fan blowing air directly in the engine bay.

I think the forced air system that Modshack has made is the way to go, but also may work very well in combination with the G'3 or the new R2C intakes which I hope bring some good results.

Thanks for compliments first off. Now as for $$$ per HP gained, as I have stated for me at least it's more to do with sound and functionality. As for the gains only being up top, thats to be expected. The stock ones are the restrictions in that range. Yes, you wont be driving at 6k+ all the time, but when/if you want to Track/Drag the car it will be helpful. Also it's a personal thing and each to their own. Some want bling, some want performance. If there was TT or SC kits out i would've done that, but there's nothing for now.

Also if you look at the graph again, the After run starts earlier on the graph. It's just a calibration thing thats all. So it's pretty much line ball till about 5200 (TQ) and the Stillen's keep it up for longer (was also mentioned in this same thread that i posted in the Intake/Exhaust section). Also why is that people go on about Bonnet Up/Down. I can understand it when say the bumper is off as thats where the PODS are. To be honest those fans are not going to push the amount of air the car will see when you're doing 5k rpm, in 4th gear.

Will also have to have another look at Modshacks site again. I did have a quick look a while ago, but I though the Forced air mod wasn't going to be as beneficial due to where the PODS are with the Stillen's.

Edit - Added larger dyno sheet, so it's easier to see results/compare.

Hey AH370Z, is this the MOD from modshack you are talikng about. I cant see how that would help the G3's though. It looks like it would help the Stock Intakes or something like the R2C's.

The Stillens are mount dead centre in front of the radiator, so we get direct airflow from the front spoiler.

The A/F ratio is constantly adjusted by the ECU for engine load, speed, ambient air temp, etc. Yes 10:1 is very rich but its perfectly safe and kind of normal for a factory tune. A well managed aftermarket ECU like a Motec or the new Haltec will be able to keep the A/F in a slightly leaner range and make more power safely. The enemy to a lean A/F ratio is pre detonation, so going too lean is not a good idea.

Went and checked mine last night before a drive and I found a loose clamp. Hadn't come off, but would have eventually.

Guess they rushed mine a bit to get it out so they could close.
