Stillen Parts Group Buy - Happy times for all!

Probably a good idea to run in a bit before the exhaust so we can feel the difference and work out where we want power and pick a product to suit. I'm really confused with these cold air intakes they just look like a lot of trouble for not much gain. Even back in my HSV days these the CAI's were always questionable so I'm thinking maybe just going to K&N mats and possibly just a smooth flow induction pipe might just be the way to go as it will be a heck of a lot cheaper and probably just as effective. Anyway AH370 I will wait for you but I'm going to speak to a friend of mine that brings in a lot of SUV parts in from the US he may be able to help with getting the kits here.

No probs Ellz. Personally I leaning towards the FI Exhaust setup, then add some Stillen G3 intakes. I would still go with this GB, for the Intakes though.

If I remember rightly your in Brissie too aren't you Ellz. I can check with FI, with what shipping will be to here if you decide you want their exhaust. Also same goes for others that might want the FI setup, I have no probs doing something from up here. Again thanks to evse82 in starting the effort with Stillen though.

I think by the time they get made and delivered to us in Aus, most of us will well and truly have had the cars run in. As for the Intakes, it looks like the Short ram styles aren't really netting any REAL advantage.

With the Stillen G3 longtube, there does appear to be some good evidence that there is a nice bump in HP, around 10-15atw if I remember rightly. Then combined with some Test Pipes (bugger the High Flow Cats LOL) and a good straight exhaust, there will be noticeable differences.

Does anyone know how much the test pipes add to the noise of the exhaust? I want a nice sound but would think that the test pipes might add too much noise

I need to watch the Dyno video again, but if i remember correctly one of the Dyno runs is with the RTP on the car. I have asked for a rough DB level of the RTP's with CBE 18"Res and CF muffler. This is what i'm more concerned about, is the DB level attracting the unwanted attention if you know what I mean.

Yes i wouldnt got just plain test pipes. It's just asking for trouble. FI have the resinated test pipes so im looking into them.

MrBMW i am also learning towards the FI setup. I am in Brissy yes and i have met a 370 dude on the Gold Coast who is also interested. Group buy of 3 from FI to Brisbane maybe?
Stillen Intake hands down, i'd put the money down now if it helped :P

I had a look at the FI exhaust but was worried that it may be a bit to noisy inside, it does look awesome from behind though

I just don't want my car to drone at all, and from what i heard about the Stillen, they didn't have any drone at all so thats why I initially chose that one. I'm happy to go either way really, just as long as the sound is good, with no raspiness or drone lol

What's everyone leaning towards? Also how much does the FI cost in comparison to the Stillen? (sorry haven't checked out the price yet)

Hopefully i'm allowed to do that. Personally i was going the Stillens all the way through, Intake/CBE etc.. It wasnt until i noticed the thread in the Exhaust section that i changed my mind.

I'm going for the Resonated Test Pipes/CBE with 18" Resonator and CF Muffler. I streamed the videos through my PS3 (sounds better than my laptop LOL) and was extremely happy with the results. I've PM'd/Emailed FI for shipping prices to Aus as well. If people want to go that way, maybe we can do that.

Sry for the Hijack as i personally appreciate the effort you have put in so far for the Stillen stuff.

So unless I can see proof that the FI does not have any, then Stillen for me

I dont recieve my 370 till Oct and Im already looking at mods

In the video that's in the FI threads of the drive around, the only real "Rasp" is on the standstill at the very beginning, on the Rev down. The drive around the roads seems very reasonable IMHO.

Although everyone has their own taste. That's what is great about the wide selection of products there is. The only downside is that it is all in the US or Japan at the moment.

You still have a fair amount of time till you get your car anyway. It will take a while no matter which product anyone decides on, due to shipping.

Ok well I like the look of this one, but I'm just a little worried about the loudness. There is a new video of it on youtube, sounds great from outside but i'm just not sure whether it'll be attracting too much attention from police. It just seems a little loud at times.

I guess maybe we wait and see the shipping cost then decide.

GTRFAN you still here? lol he was keen on the stillen not sure if he's seen this one yet.

Can you elaborate on why the FI exhaust will better suit Forced Induction over the Stillen, as after coming out of a 350rwkw XR6 Turbo I may one day go supercharger or the likes.

Yeah awesome, let me know how you go with that too... I'll be happy paying a little extra to get it installed at a dealer if they put down in writing that it won't affect the warranty!

If not, we can take it to where i took my 350, he was really careful with installing the exhaust and a bit of a perfectionist too... so i'll trust him with the 370

Hey there AH370Z. My reasoning behind that comment (also coming from previous FI cars), is that the F.I. exhaust has a straighter path with less bends in it's design. Also, even if it's a little LOUD now with the RTP's i'll also see a greater gain down the track when I go Turbo/SC (most likely Turbo) and it will generally quieten a bit also. Tony from F.I. also went through this also with another member in his thread. Again nothing against the Stillen as that will still be a good exhaust.

It would be good to know what the Service Manager will say. Generally any Add-On will void the warranty. Depending on what's affected that is. Say your Power Seats stuff up, that wont get voided as the Intake will not affect it. If it was some internal engine issue, now thats another story.

I would be than happy as well to get the dealer to install, albeit as long as the premium isn't TOO high for the install. I would wont that writing signed by a Judge though LOL. I have a few others I can take my car too as well that I trust.
