Man you did score some cash.
You know you will just have to take all this stuff back of the car when you write it off don't you.:bowrofl:

jekel 03-30-2010 12:42 AM

F1 Exaust is that what Waqar and Erfan have? If so maybe look at the Stillen CBE looks less likely to scrape.

Mr370z 03-30-2010 12:43 AM

you forgot a Z umbrella for those "rainy days" haha

Yup. The guys in the forum reckon 3" clearance from the lowest point.

Worst case after CBE install, I might just resell the springs and camber kit and retain the supposed 4" clearance.

I just cant go past the way it looks and sounds..

Also Carbon Fiber mufflers!!

It's not worth the price vs gains for intakes at the moment. There are only gains above 7K rpm and you all know I'm the safest driver out there..

Mr370z 03-30-2010 05:57 AM

ahahah @ the umbrella!!!

Spacers are illegal in Vic. 20inch and 25inch will stand out like dogs balls. Go for 15inch and 20inch.

Stillen UD Pulley? I wouldnt under drive it. Light weight OEM is the way to go. For 2hp, I want my sterio, lights and so on working correctly.

K&N is good for the sleeper look. But if you want performance go for Stillen or Injen.

I love the F.I exhaust. However is it the exhaust you can drive around Melbourne in?

Sounds like you should buy a evo

You Carbon Slut! lol

Hehe :) Yup, I'm a CF slut bad! You shouldve seen my original list but I had to cut back cause it was more than 10K exc delivery!

I didn't know spacers were illegal damn it! Why is that??

EVL370 03-30-2010 05:19 PM

People still use spacers!

It's to do with people trying to make the wrong size wheels fit.

It's been around for awhile now. I'll try to find a link where it offically says.

evse82 03-30-2010 06:33 PM

Yeah I was sure they were illegal too. Then again the 3 inch clearance on the exhaust isn't exactly legal either :p

EVL370 03-30-2010 08:03 PM

Agreed. I'm still thinking of the F.I exhaust due to the great support behind it.

However If they had a muffler design like the berk's. I would of ordered it by now. I'm going to see how the next batch of berks come in. I might have to copy you evse and go for Berk/Stillen.

Majestik

You after the performance side of things with your springs or just to lower it?

Majestik

Hi mate. Nah, just for looks mainly.

I'm mainly concerned about insurance vs illegal mods more so than cops.

Majestik 03-30-2010 08:55 PM

Will I need the rear toe bolts??

A guy on the main forum reckons not worth the trouble.

Will I wreck anything long term if I don't use them?

EVL370 03-30-2010 09:02 PM

Anything from Eibach is good.

Also if your after more the performance side of things I would think the Nismo factory coilovers are the way to go. Only drops your car by 10mm and you don't need to add any camber arms or toes.

However a very good overlooked brand is Tanabe. They do springs thats only 5% more harder then stock. It's made to work with all your factory stuff. So safe long term.

http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...nderbrace.html

A few of the big online stores for 370z parts sell this brand.

Waqar 03-31-2010 06:30 AM

Ronnie for F.I exhaust if you keep it at stock height it will rarely scrape as the lowest point on exhaust is with tyres. The front lip would scrape way way more than the exhaust would ever touch ground.

With lowering on F.I you have to go through bumps and driveways slower than usual else you will bottom out whole car not only the exhaust

If given the choice to get exhaust again I would still go with F.I no matter how low it is just love the way it looks and sounds

Spacers are illegal so use of it depends upon you. 20mm and 25mm on 19's would stick out a lot and will get more attention but for looks they would be awesome

With lowering rear camber kit is worth it, I just lowered my car on coilovers, my rear tyres are like half inch in air from outside (will show in pics tomorrow after getting alignment done on stock setup)

Thanks man! :)

Great advice. Do you think it would look bad if I don't lower and just put spacers? Also how would you think 15mm front 20mm rears will look?

Show me pics asap!! Your car will look mad!!!!!!

15 and 20mm would look great too, I think would sit flush with fenders

if you don't lower it and put spacers wont be as good, I don't know how to put it into words lol

Pics tomorrow in the daylight, with wider tyres 245 in front 275 in rears. Looks mad from behind!

Edit: or wait I'll go into garage and get pics now :p

Damn that looks awesome!!!

I'm very worried now that I'm gonna get pulled over the moment i leave my driveway cause it's Sooooo low.

Isn't there a way to install the cbe up higher??

Majestik 03-31-2010 07:25 AM

Also waqar. What's the chances of you getting a measurement from lowest cbe point to the ground?

It looks to be like 2 inches!!??

Is your drop lower than what I would get with the eibachs?

Its more than 2 inches

I'll get measurements tomorrow from the lowest point of exhaust and front lip

Eibachs would be higher than this

Hey Majestik

Before I start don't flame me, I am happy to be corrected on any point I am wrong and remember these ideas are based on my taste which may not suit others.

To help you out I will tell you where I am going which is very similar to Minicobra1's latest setup and maybe I think where you are going, but with the standard 19" Sports wheels. Thanks Minicobra1 for the ideas and inspiration (but maybe not the PC matt colour on a MB).

http://www.the370z.com/wheels-tires/...att-black.html

Have the following on the way from the US.
- Nismo OEM 19x9.5+40 and 19x10.5+23 same as bezzita's new rims. These are different from the accessory S-Tune Nismo rims which have the same offset and size as the 19" Sports Rims.
- Yokohama V103 Advan Sport 245/40R19 and 285/35R19 (conservative but I need just a little more profile for the road conditions up here)
- H&R DRS Spacers 15mm all around to maintain the stagger. From my understanding you will need the stud replacement type in the front known as V1 or DRS for 15mm or 20mm.
- SPC Camber Arms Kits (which come with the T/bolts dont let Margaret at Stillen tell you otherwise) Dont think you will need the toe bolts with the Eilbachs if you are setting the alignment to near stock, but maybe with coilovers such as Waqar setup.
- Eilbach ProKit Springs
- Stillen Sways

In addition
- Stillen G3 CAI
- NST LW UD Pulley with extra Alternator Pulley (can use the same OEM belt)
- Illuminated Kick Plates
- Splash Guards all round
- OEM Nissan Flat Washer Lock nuts to help keep those wheels on the car.

The offset on the above will give +25 on the front and +8 on the back. If this is too aggresive will remove spacers and sell on. Your Sports 19" offset using 15mm & 20mm would yield I think +32 & +10. Jump in guys if I am wrong. The general rule of thumb for a lowered flush look with 9.5 and 10.5 rims is +22 F and +12 R (thanks Schrute)

For exhaust really want a stock look and max ground clearance so FI is out which leaves Stillen, Berk or Nismo. Nismo is my prefernce looking for a moderate sound and good looks and willing the trade off a few HPs. Trying the stich up a group buy on Nismo out of the states on S-Tune. If any are intrested PM me.

Sorry for the rambling I am tired and its been a long day.

See ya Termac

Hi mate. Once again, thank you for going to these efforts to enlighten me.

Your setup (to me) is a lot more in depth than what I'm after. To be honest, I just want it to not look like any other Quartz I may bump into, sound meaner (but not crazy loud) and have a little more oomph! :)

You might have realised by now that I'm not that mechanically minded and am just picking things up as I go.

Those numbers you put up regarding the spacers I'm thinking of, mean little to me as I'm still learning. If possible, could you (or anyone) advise me what type, size spacers I require for the best look with minimum fuss and the least negative impact?

Also are you getting a hfc? What's your take on the power gains from including a hfc to your cbe? I'm just VERY paranoid that the sound increase will drive me bonkers!

Termac 03-31-2010 08:49 AM

Hi Majestik

Have a read of this link for Sport 19" and spacers its long but seems 15mm/20mm or 15mm/15mm H&R DRS was the consensus.

http://www.the370z.com/wheels-tires/...t-20-rear.html

No HFCs at this point just want to do the CAI and CBE at this stage and then plot my next option.

Have a listen to the exhaust sound and video files in the stickies of the exhaust section, maybe you will hear something you like. Its seems like its Nismo for me. Power gain is minimal 5-6 HP with stock Cats, but as I said looking for a bit of exhaust note change and finish as my objective.

Cheers! :) Thats exactly the thread I couldn't find!

Ive listened to all I can find and FI is the best sounding to me and it seems like the best service too.

It's a pity that the exhausts I'm hearing are only as loud as the volume I set it at..

Termac 03-31-2010 08:58 AM

Yeah its like trying to listening down a plastic pipe to the other side of the world! :shakes head:

evse82 03-31-2010 04:36 PM

Hey Termac, if you don't mind me asking, how much were the nismo rims delivered here?

You've put together a nice list dude, it's pretty much exactly what I wanted haha also having the black car :P

I wanted the nismo exhaust as well but when I bought my parts I couldn't get one easily down here (and cheaply) so I ended up with Stillen and Berk cats the volume seemed similar but not with the cats haha it was all good though when I saw the dyno chart had + 14rwKw :)

Termac 03-31-2010 04:59 PM

Hi evse82

PM me, the deal was private with another forum member and is still in transit.

Stillen would be my second choice but concerned with ground clearance on the pipes entry to the rear muffler. What's your experience on scraping and exhaust note, maybe PM me on this one too.

Don't want to hijack Majestiks thread.

Termac

evse82 03-31-2010 05:23 PM

I pm'd you but i'll post this here too, (about the stillen) From memory when we were installing it the lowest point on the car was actually the centre pipes which still sat above the cross member.

The only reason they look low is because of the hose clamps which give the pipes a lower look, still i think it's a little higher if not the same as the stock pipes in the back going into the rear muffler.....

However, I may be wrong, this is all from memory when it was up on the hoist and my memory is shot to hell these days lol

That's not including any duty when it arrives!!

Does this sound normal? Is there anway around duty or to minimise shipping???

Help!!
