Default Greyed out parts of Stock Nav

Im having an issue,

On the stock nav, I tried to get the titles to work by trying to transfer unknown titles to compact flash, but the option to search for the uknown titles is greyed out so I cant select it. Ive tried in park, E-brake up, car running but in N w/ ebrake, etc etc. I cant get it to become a selectable option.

I am also having the same issue with the "convenience" option of the nav. its greyed out and I have yet to be able to make it a selectable option so I could browse inside of it.

what am i doing wrong?

Have you tried it with the ignition just in "ON" position, and the engine
NOT running. Don't start the car but just in "ON". (don't press on the clutch or the brake).

I finally figured it out by coincidence. Turns out that the X&Y cold play CD already has titles so i cant do a search for missing titles. The unfortunate part is that every single song on that cd has no title or name. its a huge blank space. (which made me think it was missing the titles).

I put in another CD and recording to HDD and the title shows up as the track, date, time. I guess thats what the HDD puts in place of a "missing title", because now when I search for missing titles, the only ones that show up are track, date, time titles.
