Default Fitting another Nissan navigation in a 370z?

I was curious if it was possible to fit a navigation unit from another Nissan model into the 370z? It looks like the main plug is the same, but there are two of them? I truly hate the look of most aftermarket units so I'm hoping this has a chance of working

Here is the unit I am wondering about 2013 Sentra navigation

After looking at the wiring diagrams the only difference is that the navigation unit has extra pins - one for ground, two for can-h and can-l, and one for speed sensor. I can add a pin for ground, but what would happen without the can wires? I'm fairly certain the speed wire wouldn't be necessary.

Please don't take this the wrong way, you may be the first but a few people have tried fitting 370Z Navi into Non Navi cars, and they have all given up. I'd advise against it unless you can get a refund on the radio if it doesn't work out. I would go Aftermarket instead. *If your car doesn't have Nissan Navi already.

Base model here. I would never try to fit the factory 370z navigation for obvious reasons with it being a completely different unit. The rest of the Nissan line up uses a double din unit so it SEEMS like it would be easier; however, I'm not sure what nightmare might lie ahead

In the VW world where I come from basically all units are plug and play save for adding a GPS antenna. I'm hoping that the difference in the CAN wiring is something simple like for communication with the Sirius tuner assuming it's not built in.

OP please search next time this has been asked countless times. It is not easy and not worth the hassle of all the parts needed.

Maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing, I found zero threads about this - all I've found were questions about the 370z navigation retrofit which would cost $4-6k lol.

AKAIK you are heading into uncharted territory trying to use a unit from a different model... Seems like you could be on to something. That being said, aftermarket NAV is really good and easily installed but hey - if its what you want I say give it a go and let us know how it works out!

Here are a few

2010+ navi into an 09 base model?

Can I upgrade my Base headunit with the Touring's headunit?

Audio Upgrade from Base System

Nav unit in base model

What to know about Bose

Regardless whether it is a nissan nav or another models nav if it's the stock models they are not worth the work or effort to get to work.

BigAudio.. That's not the question the OP is asking.
He's asking if it's possible to take a Double Din Nav head unit from a DIFFERENT Nissan say.. a Sentra... And install it in the double din slot of a base 370z.

by that time aftermarket will be nicer. i dont get the op not liking aftermarket nav. there are some real nice ones out there (if searched. )
if one was to put an aftermarket nav in the top cubby area then that's another story. i agree that factory looks better in that situation.

I agree. However that wasn't the exact question. My daily driver is a 13 Juke Nismo with Nav and I do wonder if I could take the head unit out of my Juke and put it in my Z without any real issue...

He could still bump one of those threads as it's on the general topic and along the same lines as the others.

We just bought a 2014.5 Juke Nismo with the updated Nissan Connect unit, it's awesome. I know that one won't fit, but after test driving a 2014 Juke with the older unit (I assume same as yours) it made me think it should fit pretty easily. Please test for the sake of the community

I know aftermarket units have much better features but I can't stand having to use the touchscreen to change functions (ie hitting menu to get home, then pressing nav, radio, etc. I want hard buttons like oem units have)

Hey Branky3,
The big diff between VW and the Nissan is the VW all use Euro type Industry standard plugs, one for Spkrs, and One for everything else, in a big black connector. I'm not sure what the pin out is and what connector is used on that Sentra Navi unit. I've looked at a lot of VW and they all take the same basic connector for spkr/power, but I'm not sure about the Nissan variants. Might want to look into the Metra/Scosche type adapters for Nissan 370Z and see what the pinout is on those and get the same info for the Scosche/Metra on the Sentra. That's the first thing that comes to mind.
