Well after two weeks, I'm finally done with dampening the whole car minus the roof. I ended up using 72 sq feet of damplifier pro, and 36 sq feet of luxury liner. Total approximate weight added is 80lbs. I'm going to have to take one huge **** to compensate for this.
Initial ride impression blew me away. I've dampen the whole car before so I had some realistic expectation of how the Z would turn out. But using the luxury liner, I never expected the result to be so profound. On smooth road, the Z is now quieter than my rx350. On textured road it's still a little louder than the Lexus, but it does not have that loud resonating hollow drone sound anymore. Instead, it sounds muffled and contained. Wind noise is still the same, a lot louder than my Lexus. I think it's because I didn't dampen my roof. Overall, the whole thing is worth doing in my opinion. Would def do this again, after I get a massage for my back. |
