Default What is this sensor? Can I move it to mount speakers?

I'm looking to put a small flush mounted speaker box behind my seats that I'm planning on putting 2- 8" subs in. I plan on putting them in the void just in front of the spare tire where some foam is located. Problem is, there's a small sensor mounted in the middle of the area I'd like to clear out for the speaker box. Any body know what this sensor is and if I can move it to the side? It's got a quick connect electrical coupling that's attached and the remote truck release cable is a couple inches away from it. Pic is looking down from the top with the trunk open. Top of the pic is facing toward the front of the car. Thanks for the help! See pic.

interior key fob sensor? just speculation but I think that was the approximate location of it.

Lol, I just dealt with this yesterday. I bought an enclosure off another member that fits in that area. The installer was like "this sensor was not on the other car." From my quick research, it's either TPMS or Key FOB, as Gomer suggests. I didn't see where he relocated it to, but I can still drive my car and the tire pressure lights have not lit up.

If it is on the front side of the "bar" that goes along the floor between the shock towers, then it's the "Inside key antenna (luggage room)". There is another antenna in the console. See DLK section of FSM (page DLK-17 in the 2009 edition).

That's the hidden satellite antenna that receives notices from Nissan after your warranty expires. It's specific location is critical to the satellites' Southern placement in the sky. It has been a closely guarded secret until now that you've gone and told everyone about it. Some of these signals can activate the check engine light or even make your radio emit strange squeaking sounds that seem to come from your drivetrain. Now that you've found it you should protect yourself by wearing a tinfoil hat when you drive. That also goes for everyone who's read this thread. FYI, I'm selling "one size fits all" tinfoil hats this week. Just send your "cash only" payments of $300 each to my address in Nairobi.

Yes... it's the front side of the bar. Right in the middle. The inside trunk release cable is just to the left of this sensor. So... it it OK to move this? I was thinking of moving it over to the area in front of the right shock tower. Anyone have any experience with relocating this sensor?

Placement shouldn't be critical but I can't swear to it.

I'll move it over to in front of the right shock tower and report back. Thanks for the help!

Report! Report!

More importantly, where are you getting this style box from? Anyone selling them pre-fab? or is this always custom work.

I'd like to get a pair of 8W7's flushed (raised due to sub needs), but right in that exact area.
