Default LF Help with low cost decent setup

So basically I've been looking around for a new set of speakers for the Z, I have Bose with no nav so I know when I replace the headunit I need to have speakers ready, my question is what brand?!?!? Every time I come across speakers that may be nice I can never find a matching amp for just the 2 fronts. Someone help me! Lol

I'm planning to get a pair of Polk MM6501 components and power them with an old Kenwood amp I have lying around, it puts out 60w RMS @ 4 ohms. If you plan to add a sub in the future look into a 4 channel amp.

Alpine deck, components, and alpine amp. Use JL subs with custom box. You dont need a lot of power to make the Z rock.

From a cost and performance perspective I think folks have said they were pretty happy with Polk MM6501s and a Pioneer PRS-D800 amp, though not specifically together. The D800 is a super small amp and only 160 bucks.

Many people have the DB6501s, however, to me the MMs seem better when amp'd for only a little more. MMs run about $220 at SonicElectornix.

Best price I've found so far.

Amp avail there too:
Pioneer PRS-D800 300W RMS 2-Channel Class FD Car Amplifier
Marginally cheaper through Amazon:
Amazon.com : Pioneer PRS-D800 Class FD 2-Channel Bridgeable Amplifier : Audio Component Amplifiers : Electronics

Thinking about this setup myself except I'm leaning towards a Polk amp. Basically the same specs but the Polk has pass-through too so I can tag on the sub amp when I put that in. Should have the right amount of power for the components.

Polk Audio PA D2000.2 (PAD2000.2) 500W RMS 2-Channel Amplifier

If you're running wire, make sure you're running a large enough main back and then you can use a power block to feed both amps. I'm looking at a 1/0 true gauge kit so I can feed two 4 gauge leads to the amps.

I have a JL 10w7 and JL 500/1 amp that I'd like to find a classy way to get mounted in the Z but I'm going to start with the components and sound deadening.

Looks like $577 shipped with the MM6501 set, Polk D2000.2, speaker wire and the dual amp kit. Haven't yet pulled the trigger but I won't hold out much longer.

If anyone has quality+value amp kit or speaker wire recommendations I'd be interested in that. They can be pretty pricy but not somewhere you wanna go cheap, so some personal experience would be great. Especially since cost != value.

My two cents, based on research I've done, but would love some feedback on the above as well.

My advice to you is head to an audio shop like I did and listen to what you like. I went to custom sounds here in Austin and listened to alpine, pioneer, kenwood, etc and decided to go with the alpine setup with components and amp. I also purchased a custom box made for the Z with two 8 ' s to get full sound from the rear. After putting two subs in I had the lows but missing a lot of mids since I crossed out my components more so for the highs. I then cut holes in my custom box and installed 2 6x9's and disconnected the 8's. End result? Wow! I really did not want the box but after listening to the clarity and depth of music I knew this was the right way to go. I will be installing another amp for the subs to get my deeper lows to finish it off. Price points, alpine components, alpine amp, and alpine deck installed, $1100. Price of the sub box. $120. Price of subs. $50 (went cheap) price of JBL 6x9 ' s. $80.
Not sure if this helps but if money is your hold back do a little at a time. Amp size you will be fine with 150 watts with 50 watts RMS will be capable of ear ringing but it all come to personal taste. Have fun with you audio project
