Default Need help with factory navi install HELP please

I know, everyone says it can't done, but I bought the parts needed off a fellow forum member (head unit, GPS antenna, screen, controls, etc.) I just verified with Nissan technician via my VIN that I have everything needed in my 13 Touring/Sport minus one part which is part#280981EA0A (24128 below $88.69) called the diplay power harness assembly that powers the screen.

For those of you with a touring/navi; can you please help me and tell me where this display power harness routes too behind the dash (photo 1 & 2)? Or does it plug into the back of the head unit as I am missing one plug in there as well? (photo 3) Can someone with a touring/navi track this harness for me? I will do a write up once I pull this off. Thanks for the help!

If memory serves me right it's a harness that goes from the head unit to the screen.

I was inquiring about this unit with ddpilot - but this nav system is from a 2009 - it has the compact flash card reader in the front - that's one way to tell - and those had lower display resolution than 2010 and up nav units, so I passed... But you got a great deal!

Question: is your climate control plug compatible with this unit? From my research it was different on my 2010 40th that has Bose without navigation.

Thanks for taking on this challenge - a lot of people are interested in this upgrade - it would be great to see your write up if you can get this to work!

You should be able to find what you need in the FSM. You may have to dig through the pinouts but it should be in there somewhere.

Just going by the name - DISPLAY HARNESS - that would be my guess.

Yup, the climate control plug fits like a glove! Also, as I am sure some of you have figured out; nissan shares a similar DVD/nav unit with other models if you search by part number. Before this deal came up, I was tempted to piece it together from pathfinder, g37, and maxima parts since they are significantly cheaper. But, this was a steal at the price I got.

Looks like I will try buying the display harness adapter and see what happens.

Another question: I have a 40th with red stitching on the cover with the vents where the display and nav control buttons sit in. Will the display shroud and nav control button units swap out and fit into your existing cover with the vents, or is that cover with the vents unique to cars with navigation?

It can be swapped. There are 4 silver screws on the back of the console that hold the vents and center nav-control buttons.

Hey Delorean,

If memory serves me correctly, one of those wire harnesses goes into the TFT display, and the other goes in to the module on the rear of the TFT that supposedly does the Apple device interface. There were two large plugs on the rear of my radio TFT when I put the parking bypass module in there behind the TFT. The instruction manual for my bypass module reads thusly: *Installation notes: When installing NI24PIN Y-harness must be connected behind LCD screen directly, in some Nissan vehicles behind
LCD you will find a module, many customers think that this module is part of the screen, this module is NOT a part of the screen and you
must connect Y-harness behind LCD screen, LCD screen and LCD module if attached have identical plugs, keep in mind LCD screen have
only ONE connector while LCD module have few connectors. CONNECT ONLY DIRECTLY INTO LCD SCREEN WITH ONE CONNECTOR

Thanks that helps. What I really need to know is if the plug/harness that goes into the LCD screen plugs into the main head unit or if it routes to another "unknown" harness/plug behind the dash. Based on the feedback, it appears to be connected to the head unit but was hoping someone could put my anxiety at ease. More to come, parts on the way...

If I had taken my entire radio out I'd sure tell you but I only pulled the TFT forward, plugged the bypass "Y" into the rear, tucked the adapter module behind it and buttoned it back up. If I see another photo of your connection, I'll post it here. Good Luck!

Still in a holding pattern at the moment. Apparently, this magical display harness is on back order from Japan. I tried several stores and just patiently waiting....

Updates hopefully soon.

Hey Delorean,
How about the BT module, the amp, and the XM tuner module? Did you get those components also? Also the iPod interface box on mine is on the rear of the TFT box.
