factory nav A/C controls

hi can anybody tell if they have managed to swap the factory A/C controls that are built into the stereo facia of the nav system for the base 3 dial controls or if it is possible
i know they have different plugs on the back which would need to be changed and the factory nav prob wont work either my main head ache is the A/C controls thanks for any advice 👍
