FYI: someone is clearing some old stock Morel tweeters:

If anyone can speak to the quality (or likely quality) of these, maybe post-up to help inform other forum members.

We are actually talking about these over on DIY, be careful if they are the older ones the internal glue can dry out and they will not sound right now. I think last time I checked we were waiting on a guy to get his. Other than that a fantastic deal if someone is going active or using bass blockers.

glue or the voicecoil cooling agent you mean?

I'm certain were discussing ferro fluid here, not glue...Tweeters would have to be pretty old for it to dry up, but when it does, it will effect sound quality, as well as power handling.
For $30, I'd take a shot at them, though.

As a matter of fact, it says ferro fluid on the back of the tweeter (see photos on Ebay).

Edit: are they really 3"?

I can't say.. Except for that particular ad stating that they are. I did a google and couldn't come up with any info on this set at all, other than the ebay ad...Even on morels website, where they do have previous models listed. Hmmmmm

I did the same googlage that you must have. It looks like maybe they were for European (maybe east) market?

I'm on the fence with these.

They are real just a much older set.

Yep, here is what the seller sent me:

"Hi:
Thanks For Your Interest.
The Speaker measures 2 3/4", With the cover it measures 3 1/4".
This is Old Stock, from researchers they retail upwards of $150.00- $175.00 a pair.
