Default Question on power wire run and engine bay

Guys, I'm going through a 2010 370Z Roadster that I bought used (so I'm not sure what it's supposed to be like when original) and wanted to check something.

It looks to me that there should be some kind of gasket around the top of the fresh air intake (the part I circled in the picture). Am I wrong and the car came like shown in my picture from the factory?

I've searched and dug through all the various pictures on the forum and haven't found something that shows this level of detail.

The rest of car had been modified in various areas so not really sure, thanks for the feedback.

What does the original post /reply have to do with routing of a power wire???? Additionally, Is the gasket attached to the underside of your plastic cowl, or cover piece??

Check in the FSM (link in my sig). It should have answers to most of your questions.

Found another picture and the car was exactly like mine without a gasket going from the metal to the plastic cowl.

Completely off thread's original question, one semi-useful thing that came out of this is I found another way to check how clean the cabin filter is without taking the glovebox out. You can see how clean or dirty it is when you remove off the battery cover plastic from that same vantage point I took the picture from Not saying that's useful, but a piece of data, FWIW.

(To answer the question of what did this have to do with the original thread title about power wire run - this part of the car is exposed when running an amplifier power wire so someone who had run a power wire would have insight into what I was asking) Sorry if it that wasn't clear.

I see the direction that the OP was heading in with his inquisition. It's ok that it was not entirely clear, however he makes good reference as to the fact that yes, this would be something that an individual would see in light of running said power wire. I was going to say that there is a gasket if you call it that which surrounds from the under cowling which was removed when I installed mine.
