Default Battery to amp power cable wire routing question

Hey guys, have most of the pieces to where I can finally start the install of my amp and head unit which should be to my house this coming Tuesday. Had split the order in half on purpose. I do have the JL amp and all wiring to run for powering up the amp.
All info I've been reading back through here on the forum is telling me to run the 4 AWG power wire back through the OEM cable shroud to the rear of the battery.
I agree with this versus running from the battery over and down to the grommet below the brake booster. Less exposed (to the elements) wire = less long-term problems.
My question is in regards to where this wire will come out at in the interior. Will it come out "below" the dash, or do I have to pull part of the dash apart to retrieve and run the remainder of the way to the rear of the car?
Am very apprehensive about getting into the airbag section of the vehicle. No doubt many of you have fished the wire through this boot. Just need an easy explanation of where to look on the interior firewall.
Am also assuming everyone is installing the amp upright behind the rear seat divider??????
Appreciate the help.
Pat

Hi, you can run your cable through there. It will come out above your carpet on your passenger side. No need to pull the dash apart or anything.

I don't know how big your amp is but I was able to mount my Alpine amps under each seat. If yours will fit under there just be careful to check under your car were you will have the mount screws. On the passenger side there is a bunch of small lines.

I think they are for your fuel system. If they won't fit there a bunch of people have put their amps in the section under the rear strut brace. You have to pull the styrofoam piece out.

Good luck and show us some pics of your install after you are done.

If you bring it thru the firewall on the passengers side you will need to poke a
small hole thru the carpet matting I believe and just push it thru a little bit and
then reach up and guide it down.
I used kind of the same guiding method for the door speakers with a small piece
of coat hanger slightly bent and taped to it to get the door speaker wires thru
the rubber door sleeve.

Very easy to get at from inside, once through the grommet.

Behind the plastic battery cover there is a rubber grommet if you remove the electrical tape and use lube you can run a new power wire directly through that grommet. Just by the force of pushing it through the grommet you should see it no problem by looking up from inside under the dash, no holes required.

Default Success!!

Just came in from buttoning that portion of the install up. Took too long messing with the fuse connection. Had purchased these pieces from Crutchfield. They sold me the Street Wires Zero Noise set. Think the main 4 gauge cable is too big for their grommeting. Did do a nice install though. Had purchased a universal shrink wrap set from a local wiring supply house. I pulled the main power lines funky end cover off, soldered the connection and then shrunk wrap the end to where the wiring is sealed from possible corrosion beginning and then traveling up the wire. Wanted to get this portion completed while the car is sitting forward in my garage. Now I can turn it around and attack the remainder with the car facing backwards.
I will say one thing about purchasing these items from an outfit like Crutchfield. Certainly nice to have "all" of the pieces even if I do have to finish it out to how I'd like it done. Will try and take a few pix of the actual install. I have one of the new JVC CD receivers on the way. Think it's a model 800 or something.
Will keep you guys posted. And again, thanks for all of the help and advice.
