lol i was just gonna post this. Thank you. Yea that post pretty much breaks it down for you. THE pc player is pretty awesome it shows a gps on the bottom right while you have the recording playing.

interesting, how badly will it kill your battery if you left it running while the car is parked and off? or how long could you run it before the battery is dead?

So basically it will turn off after your car shuts off, once there is a collision and you can control the sensitivity on the PC player it will turn itself back on meaning no battery drain.

The one I have can be set to turn on with the car and then shut down 30 secs after the car turns off. You can also get one with a motion sensor.

Yea the ITB-100hd has motion sensor and programmable settings as well. its basically every possible feature packed neatly and simply into one product

I would be pretty interested in this product.

I am wondering what the video quality is like when recording through darkly-tinted windows? I have 5% all the way around, and a strip on my windshield. I could probably position the camera where it is under the windshield strip, but being unobtrusive is very important to me. Also, recording out the back window - no way around the tint there.

Any thoughts?

I love that Minsu is now a forum sponsor.
I didn't look through the thread, nor do I know exactly what's being sold.
PM me your best price shipped to 90275. Let's work backwards

RonRizz 11-01-2013 04:37 AM

I would have figured it would be bondo, or body panels.

Anyway, is this really necessary in a real world? I mean, what did we all do before all this technology? Do i really need a dash cam image of the hillbillys *** walking away from my car in the walmart parking lot after he/she door dings me? or the stray shopping cart that rolls into the side of my car? GOTCHA you metal wheeled bastard of the parking lot. Use a little smarts when parking your car, and save the $500.
I have a nissan 370z, not a $250,000.00 Ferrari.
I LIKE my car, but its just (gasp) a car for christs sake.

- door dings etc.
- hit and run evidence (happened to me)
- ticket you didn't deserve
- added peace of mind

Paid $35 for that.

RonRizz 11-01-2013 08:56 AM

I understand all that, but truthfully...The odds of these occurences (besides the door ding, which I would guess would be pretty hard to capture without 360 degree birds eye video) are extremely large, and the majority would never have the need for it.
As far as the door dings go, Imagine walking into your local PD with a dash video of a guy/gal walking away from your car, and explaining to them that your camera turns on when your car is bumped so it must be the guy that dinged your car. Even IF you get the lic. plate as he/she drives off. Good luck proving it without footage of the door meeting your car.
My $.02 and that may be all its worth, but it is Mine. I'll put that coin in my gas tank and have some fun instead.

You wouldnt believe the shnizz that can happen when your in your car. seriously though but nothing in this world is fool proof or perfect in that matter. its something that can help you move about your day worrying about one less thing, whether it pays off or not.

H2O_Doc 11-01-2013 09:09 AM

In 25 years of driving, I've been hit 6 times; one was a hit and run. I've witnessed maybe 5 accidents (one just a few weeks ago) that could have benefited from footage. One went to court and depended on my testimony. I have witnessed a couple of altercations and nearly been in a couple. The camera might not be needed every day or every month, but I have had numerous uses for it. There is also just the plain-o fun of documenting the odd things that happen from time to time.

So, from a simple costs benefit assessment it is more than worth $35. Plus, it can be used as a backup camera or a front parking camera.

Minsu 11-01-2013 09:21 AM

^^^^^ This is true the ITB-100HD has a video OUT which can hooked up to a screen.

Chuck33079 11-01-2013 09:31 AM

Do you have any installed pics in a Z, preferably hardwired in?

Minsu 11-01-2013 09:35 AM

I was gonna take some pics of it today, if it stops raining or stops gusting at 30pmh i will go out into the lot and install it, maybe even take a video as well.
