There is always a way... It is a matter of form over function.

I looked at the pictures of the IDQ10 I don't see any reason it should not fit. So I would say yes it will work.

Roadster is something we are looking into... Being in New England it is hard to get them out in the winter... I would love to make one for the roadster... And at least see if our existing set ups would work or not.

Not a chance... without looking ugly.

If you can wait till July, currently overseas, ship one to me for a test fitting along with pictures and I can send it back or I'll buy it from you if it fits. Or if you wanted to do it sooner, I'll have the wife test fit and take pictures. Just let me know.

So Wicked have u guys come up with a box for the passenger side yet? As it was posted before it will help for weight balance and also to access the tools n spare. A lot of people have been worried about having access to the spare. The question is : what's that going to be good for when the jack and the tools will still be pinched by the sub box since they seat underneath? Oh well if a new box have being build please let me know since I'll buy it yesterday. If not someone build it as it would be a blast.

really? i would think the flat tire on the side of the road would be a bit more worrisome.

I solved this problem when I installed mine. Clear access to spare & tools were relocated to passenger side:

Just received mine today. How is everyone mounting the sub to box? What hardware? I thought it would come with the screws to mount the sub at least

I went to ACE Hardware and picked up some nice black Hex head screws. Look real nice.

Something like this:

Amazon.com: Alloy Steel Socket Cap Screw, Black Oxide Finish, Internal Hex Drive, Meets ASME B18.3/ASTM A574, 1/2" Length, Fully Threaded, #4-40 UNC Threads, Imported (Pack of 100): Industrial & Scientific

pfdaxe, these don't look self tapping. I would think you'd want to use some self tapping wood screws or something? Unless there are some threaded holes already in the box that i'm missing? It looks like there is a wooded ring in the mold that houses the speaker. So wood screws would dig in nicely. Any thoughts?

You are correct. I drilled a small pilot hole and then screwed them in. They tightened nice and snug. I did have to use self-tapping screws to mount box to car though. I did this prior to installing speaker

I ended up using #6 1-1/8" black wood screws. They fit the cutouts in the speakers perfectly and the black makes it all tidy

One thing I am still hung up on is a more secure mounting method. I am hesitant to drill through the magic box and into the vinyl hatch corner. I'm thinking of fabricating 2 brackets that would mount to the edge of the corner trunk molding (see pictures). My goal is to have something that will hold the speaker securely so it won't fly around. Drilling into this trim/edge piece would not be visible when the carpet is covering the mounting point. It would also be a lot easier to remove the sub if needed to access the spare/tools.

Here's where I think would be the spots to fit the brackets to:
