In this picture you can clearly see there is a white book in the storage door. Does that door swing out at all or do you have to reach in?

In this picture you can clearly see there is a white book in the storage door. Does that door swing out at all or do you have to reach in? It still looks functional it would just be a matter of cut a larger opening if needed.
