Just for those interested, here is what that same space looks like on a 2010 6MT: Very little room to work there - not even sure the hole is actually

Just for those interested, here is what that same space looks like on a 2010 6MT:



Very little room to work there - not even sure the hole is actually usable given all the hardware that seems to attach to the firewall at that location on a manual transmission.

You are correct and the 2009 manuals are the same as well. I attempted this back in January when someone else said to use this spot, but it was virtually impossible to get to. The original poster is correct in that there is an identical firewall plug behind the battery that can be used. I think this one is more practical as it was easier to get to and requires less wiring to run in the engine bay.
