Default Project SQL Setup in Docaam's Z

Hello Everyone, Myself and my sponsor (for Subs, amps and installation) are currently working the 370Z and looking forward to create a subtle yet unique setup in the Z.

The pictures can speak volume so I would rather stick to pictures than explanation.

The setup should be as follows as few things might change based on the job.

Head unit : Kenwood DNX5360
Accessories: Kenwood Bluetooth
Kenwood Reverse Camera
PAC SWI JACK - Steering wheel Integration

Speakers : Kicker KS 60.2 Front component speakers
Alpine Seperates rear speakers

Amplifiers : Swiss Audio Elite series E640.4 (4 Channel for the speakers)
Swiss Audio Elite series E1200.1 (Mono Block for the sub 1)
Swiss Audio Elite series E1200.1 (Mono Block for the sub 2)

Sub woofer: Swiss Audio SPL1291L x 2 (1000W RMS, 12 inch SPL Subwoofer)

Accessories: Kicker PKD1 (1/0AWG dual amplifier power wire kit)
Kicker Fuse Block x 4
Kicker Distribution Block x 2

Sound proofing: Skematix Vibramat sound tiles

Those are some the items I called of my head.

Writing down the job card, it went more than 40 jobs. So I stopped.

Factory HU vs Kenwood



Forgot to mention that the system will pull around 200Amperes at full load. This based on the fuse ratings of the amplifiers. This means 4AWG or even our special 25mm2 thick power wires wont be enough. Thus we upgraded to Kicker 1/0 AWG power wire kit which can handle upto 3000W system.

Those wires are really thick and extremely flexible.

This would also mean the big 3 upgrade in car audio should be performed

Add thicker Ground wire from battery to the chassis
Add thicker ground wire from engine to chassis
Add thicker power wire from Alternator to battery positive terminal.

Fortunately we noted that nissan has already installed 1/0 AWG wires for the alternator but total skipped on battery wires.

So we upgraded the negative battery terminal and added the 1/0 AWG wires for the body from the battery and 25mmsq (3 awg) wires from engine to body.

This is more like a grounding kit you would you for electrical improvements.

Ground upgrade - 25mmsq wire fastened to engine block.



Kicker Fuse block installed in easy to reach location. Also within 16inches from battery. (A requirement in safety and competition regulations)



Main positive wire routed with factory finish.



Ground connected to the new negative terminal



Battery ground and engine ground connected to the same spot



Positive 1/0 AWG connected to battery terminal



RCAs behind the HU is ready to be connected.

Nice.
One minor recommendation unless you've already installed it. I'd go with the Metra Axxess ASWC instead of the PAC unit. It's a lot faster, doesn't use resistors and is a much sturdier unit. I've used both and hated the PAC.

man I have already got the PAC, I know its slow but thats the only thing we can get it in dubai and dont want to wait for 2 weeks to get it shipped from US

"subtle" usually means swapping out a HU and maybe a rearview camra, but man you guys have different definition of "subtle" out there in dubai.

looks like a fun project!

I am just copying this thread from a local forum and my installer is posting it there...for him its subtle as compared to what he usually do, but see when it finished by this sunday, everything is hidden under the trunk mat so maybe thats what he might be thinking...

Never liked over kill when it comes to bass. But the owner will be happy with how loud that gets, might even want to do ported for even more bass.
