Default Bose head unit on base 370z

I know someone who is selling their touring Bose head unit. So, how hard is it to swap the Bose head unit with the base head unit?
Do they even share the same wiring? I am hoping it's just plug and play
Does anybody know

I'm pretty sure you will also need the bose amps and speakers. The bose HU is not powered, the base is. Meaning the base hu has an amp to power the speakers, the bose uses external amps to power the speakers/subs.

Its way more of a hassle than its worth.

And to answer your question. No, its is not just plug and play. I wouldnt bother with it

I agree with the above. You will need the amp, speakers, wiring harnesses and so on people have asked before and realized it is not worth the time or effort. I agree with them.

The reason I linked to nav threads is because they would need the bose system as well in order to do the upgrade.

OEM NAV for my 40th?

Possible to purchase OEM Nav 3rd party?

Can I upgrade my Base headunit with the Touring's headunit?

Is there any way to put an OEM nav in a base Z?

Not worth it man not in the least. Nor for the sound quality you would get from bose.

Not at all. Not sure why the OP would want to run toward Bose while everyone else seems to want to run away from it. Ugh.

Understood- IMO, there are quite a few double-din units that, when paired with the metra kit, look very clean and OEM. I'd suggest you look into investing in something like that.

I have the Bose without nav and I think it's really one of the worst looking things in the cabin. The lcd display is dated and displaying info (Especially from things like XM) is a pain in the ***.

Either way, best of luck with your upgrade.

see if your vehicle even has the wiring to support the bose amp. my guess it does not.

You would also need the microphone from the donor vehicle if you want the bluetooth to work.
Try to get the harness or at least the plugs from a wrecked vehicle.
One other thing, do you have a base model? i wonder if the steering w heel controls are the same?

The sterring wheel controls are actually not the same. I have tried and tried to get the sterring wheel controls to work with a metra axess with no luck not sure why but just can not.
