Default Pioneer, Sony, Alpine Head Units (REVIEW)

Alright, as much as I like reviewing products, I HATE reviewing products I BUY and waste my money/time with. With that said, I wanted to post a review of my experience with recent head units I encountered.

Sony: XAV-70bt- Head unit looked like a "too good to be turn" case and I found out it was. This was my first head unit in the 370z and found the interface structure to be horribly slow. I know Sony has demolished its reputation in the automobile parts department but figured they changed "WRONG".

Pros: Head unit has good sound, dvd had great image, has Blue tooth and ipod connection but the cons below will ruin these features.

Cons: IPOD /IPHONE interface is SLOW. Scrolling through the play list has a LONG DELAYED LAG. Takes 30 seconds to search for your new song. If ipod is left in car and plugged in still, the radio will not produce any sound when you start the car back up. YOu have to unplug it and replug the ipog "EVEN THOUGH THE IPOD SHOWS ITS PLAYING". No Nav. Sony had the chance to come out with something worth buying and ruined it.

Next Unit: Pioneer AVIC-x920bt: Head unit looked promising. Had Pandora link app, blue tooth, NAV, DVD, mood settings, dual settings and more

Pros: I was overall happy with the unit except one big problem which ill discuss in the CONS section. The swift ipod movement made it feel like i was scrolling through my ipod as normal but instead on my head unit. No Lag and for the most part was fine.

Cons; The PICO FUSE problem is still around for pioneer. I had to deal with engine sound and car sound through the speakers. Gain would have to be so low not to hear it but then the system wouldn't perform as intended. The nav was off sometimes and guided me to wrong areas or longer routes when I selected quickest. Does not come with a remote.

I have NOW returned my pioneer and awaiting my new Alpine INA-w900. This unit should be promising and thus far recommendable. I know this review is now delayed but I wanted to show everybody my frustrations with the 2 prior units in case somebody was looking for reviews.

I chatted with forum member "Bigaudiofanat" through the whole course of this and didn't take his advice. I should of never purchased the first unit, THEN the second unit...so finally I'm taking recommendation for ALPINE. Any alpine questions, ask him.
