i installed the cmos above the lisence plate next to the left light. If you have a question about how to get it to fit there pm me.

i dont think it will fit out the butt hole. And i wouldn't recommend putting it there either, it doesn't give you a good viewing angle, its too low. The lisence plate location is much better, its very close to where the OEM cameras go.

you have to saw off the sides of the camera bracket. Basically where the flat part of the mount extends out past the hinges needs to be cut off. let me know if you need further clarification. you're essentially just cutting off part of the flat surface that it mounts on.

I hope this isn't breaking any forum rules, but I am selling both the navtool for the 09 (bought from this group buy) and a pioneer ND-BC4 cam.

Navtool and Pioneer backup cam for sale

Well, my Z was away for the winter and I finally got around to installing the camera. I have to say, for a guy who never so much as changes a fuse on a car, the install was fiarly simple. I took my time and did it in 4 hours. If I can do it, anyone can.

I do have one question though. After it was installed, the first few times I placed the car in reverse, the only lines that appeared where the red, yellow and green markers. I never made any adjustments and now, a full orange "box" has appeared on top of those markers. I'm not particularily found of that orange box. Anyone know how to get rid of it and simply have the red, yellow and green markers?

I want to get rid of this line if possible.

Got the kit yesterday. Took about 5 hours to do the install. Mostly because I spend a lot of time dealing with the roof compartment in the roadster.

For anyone doing a roadster the easy way to do a roadster is to open the top halfway to where the roof compartment is all the way up and the back portion of the roof is flipped up. Then find a strut (I used a 1X2 piece of scrap in my woodshop) to prop the roof compartment hatch up. Then take the two push in snaps out of the front of the covers on each side of the compartment cover. Then take out the two push in clips holding the cover behind each seats. Finally take out the two rests on the bottom of the compartment by prying from the font side of the clip. At that point the whole cover will just fold up to the rear of the compartment and you can take the big piece of foam out and get to fishing...

The last thing is when you finish up just take the roof and manually push it into the storage area. its all hydraulic and there will be no pressure left by the time you are done. If you try and activate the roof it won't do anything until you drop the roof into the cover area. After that it is all normal again.

Difficulty is a 4 only because of dealing with the roof compartment is a pain.

Nice kit Brian. Thanks for putting it all together.

I would personally zero out the Steer. Max Angle, Min. Turning Red, and Steering Gear Ration. as these things seem to be the only items that pertain to steering which is what the orange box indicates (the path that you will travel when you turn the wheel).

I kind of like the orange box as it does a pretty good job of projecting your path based on how hard you cut the wheel.

okay, finally installed Navtool unit & kenwood cmos 200 camera. Navtool unit is working red power light is on but when in reverse no backup camera image??

Followed all wiring connection & double checked(multimetered for voltage)...purple "reverse" wire from cmos 200 tapped into orange reverse light, ACC red wire tapped into push start ignition & grounded black wire, all these 3 wires connected to power supply box side labeled 'camera'.
Cmos 200 video cord of camera connection cord plugged into video 2 of Navtool unit with one end to power supply box & other end to camera itself.

Navtool; video 2 used, DC12V jack- black w/ white stripes to 12v acc. power & black wire grounded, RGBS position, green & 2 white wires grounded, blue wire to reverse light wire, connected plug & play Navtool harness to navtool unit & oem nav system.

Question?- does the oem nav system needs to be switched to backup camera setting?, if so I couldn't find such a setting on the screen.

I forget exactly which menu...but it's under settings > camera or something like that. Just disable the predictive steering lines.
