Hey all, i just got back from meeting with bdl99 and installed his harness and a kenwood cmos 200 rearview camera. We are in the process of working on the DIY, the most diffiult part being running the wires throughout the length of the car and removing panels. the actual harness and camera themselves, from a wiring perspective, are easy and simple to install, and totally removable if you want to take out the harness if you had a reason (if you had a warranty issue with your nav or something) I am still tweaking the exact angle i want the camera at (hence why you can see my plate still, but once i figure out the perfect angle (since its different from the GTR to the Z), i will establish that in the DIY install.)
Here's a pic so you guys can see proof that his kit does in fact work. this is on my 2010 370Z. please not that the camera is straight. i just parked crooked in my garage because there was stuff in the way.. Edit: corrected camera name Last edited by Jeffblue; 11-01-2010 at 01:17 PM. |

Just one small point, we installed the Kenwood CMOS-200 camera, not to be confused with the older Kenwood CCD-2000 model which it replaced. |

perhaps we could include chicken nuggets .![]() I corrected my post above to CMOS-200. seems like i combined the names of both cameras in my head. I am going to work with Brian in the next day or two to get the DIY ready. As i said in my above post. the most time consuming part is just knowing how to remove the pieces from the interior. now that i've done it once, i feel like i could do this install in 1-2 hours from totally assembled dash, to installed camera, back to fully assembled. |

Hey, thanks for your patience guys.
I and bdl99 are just going over some things with AK to make sure things get done right and that no rules are violated so that everyone can get their camera kits for both years. i've been in touch with the guys at navtool and just have to go over one or two more things with them before we can proceed.

Sweet!
My FX45 with Tech package came with a back up camera and on that you can see a part of my plates too, just like in your picture...that's fine on the 370Z b/c you can use the bumper to judge close distance for parking (in addition to the green, yellow and red lines). Looks like preparation for this group buy is coming along just fine!

the oem location gives you much better perspective than installing it in the square in the bumper

Do you have a picture of where the oem camera is mounted.
