so i'm thinking once these become available, maybe we could get a group buy price and save some money on the parts if we get them all from a dealer on here. |
Hi Jeffblue,
I have a 2010 roadster and is interested in the 2011 rear view camera. Thanks, spryor |
who will get to 10 first, '09s or '10s ?
|
Keep in mind the wiring harness for the 2010 and 2011 should be the same and that the harness for the 2009 is different and will therefore need another mod before this system will "plug and play". The screens are different resolutions and the pinouts are different.

I meant that the 2011 camera system will plug and play with the 2010 harness, not the 2009. Exactly for your reason, that the 2009 works with the third party developers system but not the 2010.

Nissan Ned 2009, for sure I'm in.

I'm in on a 2009!
First post!!! Just bought the car yesterday. Drove over three hours from VA to PA just to get it. |
2010
Based on pricing, count me in on a 2010 compatible cam.

delro - 2010

Based on price i'm in with 2010
|
Interested. 2010.
|
+1 for a 2010
|
Updated.
Based on what DeLRo has shown in the other backup cam thread, it looks like this install might not even be too difficult. |
+1 2010!

If everyone agrees on something like this and if the cost/time to produce is reasonable I'll talk it over with the guy I'm working with and do what I can to help make this available to the forum. I'll also shoot AK a PM to see if I'd have to become a sponsor or not if everything were to work out. |

the sooner we figure out what parts we need for each application (09 vs 10) , the sooner we can get moving on this  Thanks much to DeLRo for taking an initiative on the install and fabrication of the new piece.

2009 interested here.
|
I am still looking into a OEM accessory kit. A national tech should be getting back to me soon.

DeLRo, this vendor at the GTR forum seems to have fabricated something similar to what we need. i'm not sure if it would work for our cars but i commented on his thread. you seem to know a lot about this, maybe you could chime in over there.
Adrey@SpecializedPerf - Viewing Profile thread: Rear View Camera Kits - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club |
Hi Guys,
I made the discovery about the 2011 GT-R and posted the details on the GT-R forum HERE I then made the kits available HERE and offered both a complete kit (with camera) and one with just the harness. I've been contacted by a couple of 370Z owners (including DeLRo) and working with them we've established that the 370Z with Satnav is the same as the GT-R. There are some minor differences in the wiring but the same harness approach will work. Let me know if you want some help either in creating a 370Z harness or just sharing how to do it. Cheers, Brian |
Definitely interested for my 2010.
|
Perhaps someone with a 2009 model can help establish something.
With the GT-R (at least on the NA models) the NAV system was upgraded with higher resolution screen and switched to digital RGB rather than analog RGB on the 2011 model. It appears from researched to date that the 2010 370z with SatNav has the newer AV and Screen also and my harness approach will work. Can someone with a 2009 model try the hidden menu (detailed above) and see if the camera option is present and if it is when the camera is enabled that the screen goes blue when the car is placed in reverse. |

add me to the 2010 list! I have been wanting this from day one:driving:

ok, so i have sent a PM to AK in order to figure out the logistics of doing this, but as it stands i have found a solution for our NAV backup camera's for both years.
Adrey, At Specialized Performance (a vendor at NAGTROC) sells a camera that works for the 2009 and 2010 370z, but they are two different units because of the udpated nav in 2010. Essentially the difference between the two units is that the '09 unit requires an additional part/switch in order to initialize the camera when the car goes into the reverse. as you can see baed on DeLRo's instructions, the 2010's do this by themselves once activated via the diagnostic mode. Anyways that leaves the '09s camera fix more expensive than the 2010's. 2010 unit is 495 normally, group buy price: $350 2009 unit is 825 normally, group buy price: $665 10 total committed would allow us to get the lowered pricing. (ie if 8 2010's and 2 2009's commit, everyone can get group buy pricing.) committed=50%deposit. As i understand the units are sold with a 1 year warranty it may turn out that the NAVTOOL for the '09s might prove to be a less expensive option, in which case i will try and setup a group buy for you '09 guys. I've been a member here for a while, and i want to get it out of the way right now. i am in no way trying to profit from this and i'm not trying to sell anything. i'm aware of the requirements for selling things on the forum and i'm aware that at the moment, I, nor Adrey@Specialize Performance are vendors. i'm just trying my best to arrange a way for all of us to get camera's like our cars should have come with in the first place. I have sent AK a message in order to go over how we can implement this group buy and who needs to become a vendor and whatnot in order to set it in motion. but anyways, that is the pricing, and these units will work. anyways, that is where we stand right now. tomorrow i will call navtool to see the logistics of a group buy and see if it might be a cheaper alternative for the 2009 guys. |
Any ideas on installation procedure?
(In either way) |
The group buy price for the 2010 is reasonable especially if it's plug and play, but holy smokes, look at the price for the 2009!

This looks like a cheaper alternative for the '09 guys.
http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...amera-dvd.html it involves the navtool, and there are a few DIY's on it. Since we have such a large number of people from each model year, we have enough for two group buys from two different sources, depending on what people want to go with. However, the only feasible solution for the 2010's is the GTR camera rig in this group buy. the '09s can use either this or the navtool. i will call navtool tomorrow to see what we can work out. |
Guys, I have just become a member and are a authorized vendor. We have been selling these rear camera kits for GTRS over 2+ years, and also have sold some for the 370z customers. We unlike others trying to sell, are a legitimate company that will provide full customer service 24/7 and provide a full 1 yr full warranty on all our products with a no questions asked replacement policy. We offer and have in stock both kits. One for the 2009, and the other for the 2010+. Below are a few pictures that one of out customers with a 2009 model 370z sent to us.

Specialized - are your kits for the 2010 plug-n-play? any pictures of the 2010 system with guidelines working? If not perhaps you can post or email a pdf instruction manual.
