Set filter slope to 24db

Set crossover to 65 Hz

Turn off Infrasonic Filter (This switch is generally used for ported enclosures)

Turn off Bass EQ (At least at first)

Bass EQ Settings:

I would start the Center frequency at 40Hz, Any higher or you will get too much upper bass from this sub.

Also do NOT turn Boost beyond +10

I would set the Q to a wide setting to begin with (1.6 or 2.7)

Sweet!! Thanks a lot, I will try that out later on today!

I agree with most except infrasonic... I would leave that "on" in this application. That will eliminate any frequency lower then 30 hz not go to the sub via amplifier. Human ear can not hear about 20Hz and down anyways and there are very afew recordings that will reproduce 25-30 hz, this allows the amp and subwoofer to work a lot more efficiently. Less heat on amp and less workout for the suboofer for a sound you will not be able to hear.

I received my order form you guys a couple of day ago, I have not gotten a chance to open the boxes yet but i must say I am already slightly disappointed in your customer service. I was told I would be notified of how much my total would be. Well i never got a phone call or email, just a notification from my CC statement the night before everything arrived. Then i figured well at least I'll get a shipping notification.. and Nope didn't get that either! I"m really not trying to make a big deal of this because regardless i would make the purchase all over again if I had to. I just wish you guys had better communication skills. It would have been nice to know when the items would be here so that I could make arrangements for these expensive pieces not to be sitting on my front doorstep all day long. Thanx anyway.

I truly appologize. We have a system with ups that is supposed to email you when item ships however there must be glitch in it and it does not always send out a notification. I am however very glad you got everything. Ups is also supposed to get a signature from you and not just leave it at the house. Again I appologize we did not call you.

Thank you for your order.

Great results with our 370Z magic box. we are continuing the special for the forum members, and still have a great package with Sub and amp when you call. Infact we can put together a great package for a complete system... I will guarantee the pricing.

Wicked CAS, did anyone ever confirm if there was a fitment issue in the NISMO? Also anymore feedback regarding why his box was not flush as advertised?

I just bought a new head unit and have a 5 channel amp from a previous car. I also have a 10" sub but I'll have to come back and post the model to see if the air space is compatible.

bigaudiofanat 08-13-2010 09:36 PM

There is no difference in the trunk from a regular z to a nismo.

No one was questioning that the "trunk" was different. The Nismo has .5 in winder wheels front and rear and he was saying he thought the spare was different. If the spare is wider it could cause a the box to not sit down all the way.

Maybe I'll just check with the dealer.

We have sold many and have not heard anything about not fitting nismo models. Box should fit in the spare. Base model spare is a smaller diameter, nismo spare would be a bigger size but either way the box will fit inside.

We now have the Trunk carpet available with Z logo.

Imperial 08-19-2010 06:23 AM

Any pics of the trunk carpet?

I purchased this enclosure for my Nismo 370Z, as soon as it arrives I will comment on fitment.

I have a 2010 Nismo. With the WickedCAS Box.
I must say I am a 100% satisfied with it. Shipping was quick, and the quality of the unit is far greater then expected....

Pro's: First off, it sounds frigging awesome. The sound is tight and the bass is exactly what I was looking for with the 13.5" JL sub.
It takes up nearly no space, and is very well made. It sits in the spare tire, and the way I mounted it it's not ubtrusive at all.
Con's:
There should be a way to lock it down or strap it down from WickedCAS. I ended up fabing something using straps wrapped around the spare tire base. The reason I did this was that if I hit a hard enough bump like rail road tracks or un-even pavement it would bounce and make a knocking noise.
Plus, in the event of an accident I did not want a 40lb box flying around the interior of the vehicle.

Lastly, I used poly fill after trying it without. It made a difference in the sound. It takes a lot less volume to get that JL Sub rocking.

I would strongly recommend a grill on the sub. I've dropped a few things on it already. Thank god it was there.

Anyway: here's a link to my install. Very, very satisfied with this setup.

:iagree: I got one of the first boxes that they produced. It fits in the NISMO just like it should. I kept the large styrofoam piece with the round hole in place and helps "secure" the box, but raises it by about an inch or so. I took pix, but haven't posted them up yet. I will get them in later on today (been slacking lately).

How much for the carpet? I need it bad.

Edit: A couple quick ones.......

Received mine on Thursday and installed Friday... remains wobbly and sits high despite several adjustments to spare and some trimming to surrounding Styrofoam pieces… any thoughts?

Jamaica 08-21-2010 02:15 AM

Thats looks good to me

bigaudiofanat 08-21-2010 08:18 AM

The Z one looks cheesy compared to the real one.

roplusbee 08-21-2010 06:57 PM

Mine sits pretty good, but the box itself has an issue and rattles in one place. I spoke to the guys @ Wicked C.A.S. and they offered to help me out, but I am in GA until the end of OCT and didn't want to rip my system apart. All in all, I am satisfied with the performance of the sub/box. It just sux when I try to pump it up. Bungies or ratchet straps should do the trick if your box jumps around.

Rob

Rogue370z 08-23-2010 09:52 AM

Ordered mine today. Will post a review after I recieve the box and sub.

Subwoofers (FAQ) - Nissan 350Z & 370Z Wiki

Does the 350z have a factory subwoofer?

Yes, but only on the Touring model with the Bose sound system. It is a 10” special Bose subwoofer located behind the drivers seat. However, the subwoofer mounting bracket is on all of the models, and some people have used it to mount aftermarket subwoofers as a “stealth” install.

Confused...:icon14:

bigaudiofanat 08-25-2010 11:10 PM

We do talk about 350z's here.

If you have a bose system in your 350z you have a sub if not than no.

Wicked CAS 09-10-2010 04:21 PM

Nismo models will have a fitment issue which we believe is due to spoke design. It will stick out about 3/4" to 1" higher. We are looking into this and will come up with a remedy.

If you have a NISMO model please hold off ordering the enclosure until further checking into this fitment not being flush.

tjlazer 09-15-2010 04:15 PM

Anyway to have the speaker sit flush so when you have the OEM carpet over it, it will be flat? Thats what I want--for a stealth look. Don't want a speaker hump.

daimon1313 09-15-2010 04:41 PM

This was going to be my question as well. While I really like the look of how it sits already, I "super stealth" look would be great.

I'm guessing, however, that the depth of the sub will prevent this.

Perhaps if you remove the spare?

No problem brothers

Mike 10-03-2010 06:46 PM

This should also be a prob for sport package too, same spare as nismo and I bought a homebuilt enclosure from someone with a non sport and had same issue as rogue

Ricochet48 10-03-2010 10:54 PM

Any pictures of an inverted subwoofer mount? I love the idea, but I want a full sub (not a slim). Any word on an external (above carpet) fiberglass, maybe even painted, enclosure?

Imperial 10-22-2010 05:26 AM

Bump for updates.
