Is there a possibility of these being one day made to accomodate Kicker Square enclosures? Or is that not possible?

jxll88 04-01-2010 11:23 PM

Will it fit the Nismo models? The Nismo has a different spare tire.

labk888 04-02-2010 12:57 AM

+1 on this type of stealth setup. Ideally it would be great if the cargo was still usable without damaging the sub.

It looks like the grill will extend higher but if a low profile grill/mesh is used will it sit flush? I want to cover the speaker with my trunk mat for a stealth look, and do not want a hump showing.

Doesn't the NISMO have the same brakes/wheels/spare wheel as the sport?

Shipping t australia would be hard to determine box size would be 36xx24x12 which I believe is too large for USPS.. 36x12x12 to Au is about $150 I would gestimate around $150-200 because of the size.

jxll88 04-02-2010 09:29 AM

I was told that the Nismo has a different spare tire compared to other 370zs. I don't know if the backside of the rim and tire is the same.

Right now we are consentration on the round subs, Maybe in the future. If there is enough demand, However round versus square always ends up with the round being the winner. (production purposes)

Spare tire on th ebase model is smaller 18" versus 19" spare I believe. we accomodated for the enclosure to fit the bigger spare. However time will show.

Just to be clear...are you saying the magic box is designed to fit the 18" spare of the base model, so it should also fit the larger opening of the 19" spare? Is that correct?

Just making sure it will fit my base model.

Yes,

I have 8 orders with the special price I have provided. I will extend it to 2 more spots.

Boxes take 2 days to make. 2 Piece molds have to be set and then we have to put them together and let them dry to cure. We then carpet it and install the sub if ordered with a sub. We will be shipping them as soon as they are ready.

37Z 04-10-2010 06:11 PM

sub box

How does it sound with a JL 13.5 sub and JL amp (sound clips)?

Please PM back a price for space tire, 13.5" JL sub, and JL amp?

Also, does the sub box fit with 370Z with sport package spare tire?

Liquid_G 04-10-2010 08:17 PM

Hey Wicked C.A.S., this enclosure looks amazing.. Definitely interested but had a couple questions..

I currently have 2 JL 10W3 subs (in a Zenclosures box) powered by a JL 450/4.. In your opinion, how would the 13TW5 in your enclosure with the JL HD900/5 amp compare to what I've currently got?

And I were to go with that setup, where would be a good spot to mount that HD900/5 amp?

THanks

37Z 04-11-2010 01:30 PM

And if I were to go with that setup, where would be a good spot to mount that HD900/5 amp?

I plan to mount the JL audio amp in front of the spare tire well, where the plastic foam piece is located.

370zForever 04-11-2010 11:13 PM

Hey Wicked C.A.S.,

I really like your enclosure and I plan on getting it, but I am a serious track driver so wait is important, so I plan on taking out the spare and the tools to save like 40lbs, so it will just be a JL HD600-4 amp and a JL 10w6v2 woofer in the trunk (and my lightweight Braille battery is somewhat there, but is ahead of the trunk behind the strut bar). I was just wondering how low the enclosure goes in the trunk cause I know you guys made the spare usable so you would give space for it, so if could I place the amp down in that area. Would it be ok or is it a kinda of ridiculous idea...Just to clarify, I want to use the enclosure and put the amp under it in the space for the spare. I can work with the wiring by drilling and other ideas...Give me your opinion if it's a good idea.

Thanks

No sound clips, Personaly I thing a video of a sound clip is useless because it realy does not give you the proper representation of what the sub is doing in the car.

2 different animals here.
900/5 will certainly have more power, I would not even do rear speakers I would run the 900/5 front and rear channels bridged to the front speakers. 13tw5 will certainly keep up with what you are used to, will need to be properly tuned. There is the spot right under the strut bar where there is foam and it is a void spot for an amp install.

our enclosure needs the spare tire to sit in, and 10w6 will not fit unles you invert the sub in which case it will protrude in to the trunk are. I recomment you get a 13tw5, I can trade your 10w6 in if you like. However you will ned the spare tire to allow our enclosures to work.

LOL, didn't think of that, I'll think about what to do...

roplusbee 04-13-2010 08:20 AM

Just to confirm, there should be no issues with NISMO Z fitment right? Also, are there any suggested installes in th Killeen/Fort Hood, TX area? I just want to see if I can be lazy and have a decent shop install my goodies before I take my road trip. Thanks.

Rob

sig11 04-15-2010 03:23 PM

Got the box and 10" Kenwood sub yesterday. Took it to a local stereo shop because I was lazy and got raped on the install. They broke the clips on the rear hatch plastic off and charged me $50 more than they quoted. :(

At the moment I think the sub sounds a little gutless... no punch... and makes me worry that I should have spent the money on the 13". I've only listened to two and a half songs so far though. I'll set up the EQ up and take a little drive tonight to see about breaking in that new surround. :)

sig11 04-15-2010 06:56 PM

I take back what I said about the sub being gutless. Take out the carpet and it sounds great. :) Time to do some customization.

Hey All:tiphat:

I just got the sub box recently.

On a test fit, I noticed that the "car seat hook" seems to be in the way of the sub box. Thus it does not seem to sit flush.

I was wonder if the other folks noticed this as well.

I took some pics but cannot find the SD to USB adapter cable to transfer to my computer...:(

Thanks,

:hello:

Make sure when you position the box inside the spare, you loosen the hold down bolt. once you have it in place you can then slowly take the box back out and then tighten the hold down. Plecement of the spoare is crucial for a perfect fit. It will be almost flush not 100% flush.

yep same here, just remove that bolt.. with the sub there you aren't going to be putting any car seat in the back.

Liquid_G 05-03-2010 12:28 PM

So for what its worth, I installed this stuff this past weekend too.. just my thoughts on this.. I did the 13TW5 and enclosure, with the 900/5 amp.

The enclosure itself is great, super light and seems well put together. The fit for the sub is absolutely perfect, and the rim where you screw down the sub has wood underneath so the screws have something to bite into.

The enclosure came pre-wired with 16Gauge wire, but I opted to go a little bigger, and used the 16g wire to pull a 10gauge pair through the enclosure. Putting 500watts through 16gauge wire didn't seem right to me.

With the enclosure in the spare tire, it seems to sit little high... like a good inch above the styrofoam pieces on the sides, seems like I'd have to build up those side areas a little to make the floor completely flat. Right now I have it in there without the spare, which seems better.. I cut a hole for the sub in the thin carpet and it looks pretty good. You'd have to rub your hand across the carpet to notice its not 100% flush.

Now the most important thing, the sound.. that 13TW5 sub hits super hard. For a shallow sub, I was really amazed how good that thing sounds.. definitely better than the 2 10w3's I had back there previously.

Overall I'm happy with the way it came out.. nice job WickedCAS.

We have caugt up with all the orders, currently wait time would be to make the enclosure as of 5/10/2010 It would be 2-4 days after ordering the enclosure.

BenZ 05-23-2010 01:55 AM

Will you be making any enclosures for the 370 Roadsters??

Chrono_30 05-23-2010 05:03 PM

I installed my enclosure today, and I'm very impressed with the way it turned out...its exactly what I was looking for. I am having some issues tuning my JL 500/1 amp. I've used one of the setups from their web page, but they don't use my speaker, I have the 13TW5. If anyone else has this setup, and is happy with how they have their amp, could you please help me so I can get the most from my speaker. Thanks in advance...

I found a diagram on the JL web page i'm going to try...but thanks anyways

Here are my recommendations to start with:

Set filter slope to 24db

Set crossover to 65 Hz

Turn off Infrasonic Filter (This switch is generally used for ported enclosures)

Turn off Bass EQ (At least at first)

Bass EQ Settings:

I would start the Center frequency at 40Hz, Any higher or you will get too much upper bass from this sub.

Also do NOT turn Boost beyond +10

I would set the Q to a wide setting to begin with (1.6 or 2.7)
