Spare tire well volume?

Has anyone calculated or measured the volume if you remove the spare? I searched and can't find anything.

asimple way to get a rough idea is to fill the well with packing peanuts and then put them in a square cardboard box and calcualte the displacement

Another solution would be to have a local 370z owner allow me to glass them up a custom enclosure for the tire well.

Isn't it just a round hole? (don't have my 370 yet)

Then it would be : Pi*R^2*H

I highly doubt it's perfectly cylindrical, but I don't have a Z yet.

The spare is an 18x4 wheel so I can guess that the tire well is probably 26 or so inches across..

3.14159 * 13^2 * 6 = 3,185.6in^3

3.14159 * (13/12)^2 * 0.5 = 1.84423ft^3

It's an estimate :P

There is a ton of space down there if you pull everything out, especially those useless foam holders that hold the jack.

Try these measurements in the equitation:
Side wall-4.6, Radius-13.1, Diameter-26.1, Circumference-82.1

Spare Tire Size--- T145/80D17

It's really simple:
Pi * Radius * Radius * Height = volume
3.14 * 13.1 in * 13.1 in * 5.71 in = 5617.101 in^3
The 5.71" came from the tire width of 145mm.

Unit conversion is the "hard part" but google makes it more brainless than a calculator:
search "5617.101in^3 to ft^3" answers: 3.25ft^3
