The only real drawback was that updated/support would end pretty quickly, for example like this is running OS 11 but the current is OS 14 but that wasn't too much of an issue. The only annoyance with these android based units was that they completely shuts down after about 30 of the car being off. So when you go to start your car it runs sluggish for a few minutes till everything gets loaded in the background. Not sure if that's an issue for this model. But the saving grace for the joying unit was that it was inexpensive, even the Workshop12 one was relatively low cost.
This one does something similar. Not exactly sure how many hours it takes but it's not a complete shutown, more like a deep sleep.
The appeal compared to the workshop12 route is just how much works out of the box for a similar price. I got mine from AliExpress for $1,000, can be had for slightly less with coupon straight from aucar. The workshop12 is $299 for the plastics. Then $200-$300 for their electronics. Then you need a tablet and sort the charging situation. On top of that you still need to figure out backup camera and steering wheel controls.

These are the same as Nifty City. I just ordered mine Monday. Hopefully it gets here soon. I paid the extra for fastest shipment.

QUESTION that nifty city couldn't answer.

My 2014 has the camera in the rear view mirror oem option, but I have no navigation. Which package would I get? the one with the navigation hookup or the one with the cubby hole? I think I want the camera on the screen and on the rear view mirror. Is that an option? Or, would I basically lose the rear view option if I went with the camera version? They said they had never seen an OEM camera option for rearview mirror. I think it's just hooked up to the reverse gear and that's it...? Anyone have answers to what would work?

Inflamyes,

I just finished what you described. I have a mirror reverse cam (not oem) that records front and behind and I wanted the reverse on the tablet as well. I just added a second camera. It was all that I came up with and I had already pulled all of the rear interior and bumper (for other projects) it was just routing the wires! As far as to which one to get. If you have a cubby hole go with that version. Both come with connections for oem and/or aftermarket cameras.
