Question Adding a Sub to Bose?

Hi,

I have a '14 roadster touring/sport/nav, so I have the bose system. It sounds decent and I have the bass turned up all the way in the settings, but I am looking for some more bass without having to replace the entire system. Is it possible to add a sub to the current 2 subs to increase the bass? Thanks

i use to run a basslink on one of my older cars with a bose system. just tapped into speaker wires from the rear midrange as my basslink could take both line level and speaker level input.

was a quick and easy install.

if u dont have rear speakers in the roadster, i'd just tap into the front speaker wires near the HU.

I have the 2015 nismo tek package and I added my 12" sub to the system and used a regular adjustable inline converter after the factory amp ....sounds really good and no issues with it ......I wanted to keep all of my factory system as possible.

Did you hook into the rear speakers or the sub wiring? I'm looking to do the same with 2 8" subs

Make sure you tap the sub wires and not the speaker wires as there is no frequencies below 100hz going through the speaker wires.

I tapped into one of the sets of sub wires with an audio control lc2I, ran that to a rockford fosgate PBR500X1 powering 2 Pioneer TS-SW2002D2's set up for 2 ohms. I put the box in between the passenger compartment divider strut bar plastic "wall" and the brace in the bottom of the trunk floor. I used 1/2 mdf and its good that I did, I didnt have an 1/8th inch to spare even with the shallow mount subs. Ill put up pics if anyone is interested. My box ended up being just under half a cubic foot, in range of the subs recommendations.

Ive still got some adjusting to do,and I want to find a way to get the sbus protected and the mat sitting a little more flush but im really happy with the sound so far. Its way better than just the stock "sub". the door speakers made more of the bass than that shizz box.

Here is my final setup. After probably 20 hours total I have the box in and carpeted with a way too expensive 14ga stamped plate over it so I can actually set stuff in there that might sit on top of the subs.

I still need to get a factory edge put on the carpets.
