If it's under warranty, and you can confirm it's the port, I would definitely lean that direction. But replacing it with a new port yourself is probably not too difficult.

If it's under warranty, and you can confirm it's the port, I would definitely lean that direction. But replacing it with a new port yourself is probably not too difficult. If you go this route, I would definitely look at getting one with higher amperage rating (3A is what I would look for). Even if it's just for a USB stick at this time - some newer ones these days (faster and higher capacity) require more power than the average USB stick.
